I know the whole thing with telling people to kill themselves is meant to be a joke of some sorts but it was never really funny and bringing it back "for the bigots" is just a leeway to make it acceptable again for bullies and bigots to say it more freely without as much social repercussion even more when the people "normalising" it now are kids who will take the bully over the most stupid shit like anime characters maybe it's funny to you guys because you were never really the butt of the joke as much as other people in less fortunate circumstances (say, being trans, dark skinned, autistic, or a nerd in the 2010s), but for a lot of people who were actually constantly told to kill themselves it's not really that funny and it's never going to be it's a similar situation with the whole y2k thing, the esthetic is pretty but now a lot of brands are bringing back those body standards in women that made many afab people suffer from eating disorders at a young age in a perfect world it would be used only for punching up, but we don't live in a perfect world and acting like highschool bullies is not really that cool or funny 🤷‍♂️
