Loved the style of this video, the story along with the scenic walk. It's amazing how much you had to submit to prove you were in a relationship, you'd think a marriage certificate would be evidence, it's a legal document! Well done for getting through the process, these things always look easy from the outside but people forget that that's because some things are to hectic to share. Well done for sharing the honest process in an upbeat way!

From Durban as well. But living in the tranquil Victoria BC Canada. And it was nice to follow your Durban episodes. Immigration is so different for many, with children, young and older and without children. My advice is to do it early, its a lot harder when you have to deal with teenage children, especially boys.

@flyingmonkeys97742 жыл бұрын
Wow. That was a lot of work. It was a lot easier 20 years ago. A tip to newbies from SA. Drop the SA flag on your clothing, car, etc. You live in NZ now. Kiwi's hate South African's pushing their old identity around. You don't want to stand out as a South African. They will constantly remind you that you are South African because of you accent. It becomes old and annoying. Best of luck.
@elishahowe99542 жыл бұрын
We are nearly 14 months into the process....just waiting for those visas now. Did Craig have to register with a professional body in order to practice in NZ? That's really what's taken the bulk of our time. Can't hardly wait anymore....

😳 14 months! Shame guys, what a process! Hope it all works out asap! Craig’s degree is from UCT and they have a certain type of accreditation that is accepted in NZ, so luckily we didn’t have to do that.

Wow, what a process and as you went through the steps, the costs just keep going up and up .. not a cheap exercise, not counting getting to Pretoria for the medicals, etc. Like Craig, I also prefer to be hands on when it comes to the logistics, doing the research, applying for whatever, etc. I think if you do your research well, ask the right questions, and have that knack for "organising a "party" in a brewery", you can do a lot of this yourself. In the end, it is down to how much you are willing to take on in terms of stress, the complexity of the process, the amount of time you have until you need to leave and your own time to your disposal. I had an ex-colleague who as part of what they took with when they immigrated to NZ a few years ago, also had to ship a Tesla Powerwall to NZ .. now we're talking a whole different set of logistics as lithium-ion batteries need to be shipped separately than your own stuff. But very creatively put together. Loved it! The waterfall is awesome!

There is this trend: a man gets a job and moves, and a woman makes movies on youtube. Its almost never a woman moving, establishing her career it, its almost always "follow husband women" who present it as their achievement. And those women tell about moving, when in fact they were in the passenger seat...

Um, ok, thanks for sharing your insight about this ‘trend’
