I think its important to mention that Asana actually means seat, or place where you sit. The "pose" is in a balanced position where the body should be relaxed or sitting. The Vyasasana is the seat where Vyasa or the representative of Vyasa sits. Vyasa, or Vyasadeva is the complier of the Vedanta sutras. Thank you; OM TAT SAT

Well, these pronunciations are correct for English speakers. But original pronounciation are more correct in Indian accent. Because the pauses between the pose and sana is missing.

It is a good idea to share w people the sankrit names of asanas. However, there are many of them that your pronounce was very wrong. I understand that for english speakers are more dificult, but you should honour the sanskrit by pronouncing them right.

@Ramaraj20069 жыл бұрын
It is not Tadasana, it is Taaaaaaaadasana, please. Please correct your pronunciation. Aaaaaaaaanjaneya asana (not anjaneyasana). Paaaaarsvottanasana (not parsvottanasana). Uttaaaaaanasana (not utnasana). Your are pronouncing trikanasana, it is Tri kona asana (elongate the o in kona). It is Prasarita Paaaadottanasana (not padottasana). Nata Raja Asana (not natrajasana). I can send you a cd with the correct pronunciation. There are three s's in Sanskrit, but only one s in English.
@Nectarofyoga6 жыл бұрын
This is a nice attempt... however most of the āsana names are not being correctly pronounced here. It is not useful to use english letters and then draw the line across the top to make it 'look" like davanāgari. I think if you are claiming expertise in something you should have that expertise. This video makes it appear that the speaker is pronouncing the words correctly, however this is not the case.
@patrickmccartney75443 жыл бұрын
