I picked this up to gift it to a family member who has just skinted himself out buying a house! But, we can't give it to him in the state it is in, so, let's get the before video done!

I used to put an air freshener in the exhaust filter. Laugh when mr dyson said, doesn't loose suction, no more dirty bags. He forgot to say you Must Wash by hand Your dirty wet dog Smelly filters every month, to keep it sucking and smelling nice. Lol. Nothing wrong with a Sebo or Henry bag, Great vid on one of the better Dyson's, dc07, the 07 Animal was where he got it right. Everything after, is just basically an 07/04. Same wattage, same motor, same filtration. Until the balls with 2 Motors, poly 12v brush motor they knew it was crap, that's why it comes with a reset switch built in Lol. Real Housewives are so Gullable. Long live the 07 Animal. 👍😁

Hmmmm..... It was incredible on what was inside!! 😝😝 it was funny when you made it clean up it's own mess! The earlier Dyson DC07s had problems with the cyclone cones clogging due to the exits being too small! The is the first I've seen a later 07 with the cones clogged. But that's what happens when you use a Dyson for DIY. If my granny ever has DIY done to clean up I would bring my own Henry. All the vacs that her house supplies are Dysons..

I think this tendency for dust to get stuck may have been one of the reasons as to why this was the only model ever to use an upsidedown cyclone pack.

@@TheVacuumWizard I had plenty out of our local recycling centre, paid no more than a fiver for any of them. Over 90% worked fine, after a good clean. Mr Dyson made some sort of money, just by changing the colour.

This model is my daily driver but it’s an absolute pain on the hard floor. I got it off my uncle for the same reason as it was all blocked up

I had the same scream for me it was easy to fix because all dc07s are based on the same principle or body with or without a clutch.

Wow mate that’s so blocked😄😄 just make sure u wear a HEPA filtered mask whenever you do stuff like this. That amount of fine dust is carcinogenic😬

I am stunned by how blocked up that was. It seemed to do a pretty good job of cleaning up the mess. I've always been impressed by Dysons (I have a DC01 and 2 DC14s). What's your favourite upright cleaner of all brands?

What polish do you recommend for bearings?
@Megalocade4 жыл бұрын
Never understand people who buy a new hoover when it goes wrong they are simple to fix in this day and age with all the parts available online and how to videos in KZbin, a hoover should last a lifetime time with regular maintenance, people seem to lack even basic repair skills these days, My dc04 motor started doing some welding last night, stripped it down and brushes were down to the limit, motors OK bearings are good so just putting new brushes on £4.99 from eBay lol cheap fix. My brush roller bearing belt side was seized and burnt through the metal bar so going to have to replace that.
@steve-en8hm5 жыл бұрын
Haha think the polish on the bearings is a botch it and the filter wash it and do a proper job same as the cyclone.

Hello can anyone answer my question. Can a dc07 without a clutch be made clutched if I change the cleaner head,replace the brushroll housing and replace the sole plate. It’s cheaper for me to do this than to go on eBay and find a clutched machine. If anyone knows it would be much appreciated
@beko19875 жыл бұрын
Yep, you need a clutched cleanerhead, clutched brushroll, clutched brushroll housing and the clutch! Fits right on!

Is there any chance i could open the cyclone up any more ? My misus has washed it in the bath and i can hear water inside it ?
@beko19874 жыл бұрын
Nope, that's as far as it goes. Load sof water will pour out of the side suction hole if you shake it and hold it flat. Then airing cupboard or hot sunny day for a few days, turn it every hour and the water will soon evaporate
@wolfrace-oe2mg4 жыл бұрын
@@beko1987 Thanks dude i did put it in my boiler room for some time, after 3 days i got fed up and turned it on, luckily there was litrally only a tiny bit of water inside and didnt reach further than the bin compartment 👍👍

Wish my belt just slipped around shaft of the motor! Mine has the clutch on it and it a pain to replace the belt on it. Don't why you sucked up all that crap back up into the machine!? Should have swept it up with a dust pan and broom.

Clutch belts aren't too bad, you'll need a pair of circlip pliers or a tiny screwdriver to remove it, reassembling is fiddly though

We can’t see what you’re doing with the bearings or the belt how to put them back on
@beko1987 Жыл бұрын
The belt is just brute force with pushing it sideways over the motor spindle I'm afraid, no easy way to show that. Ditto the brushroll end caps, twist them the right way but they go along for the ride with the fight for the belt, just make sure their fully slotted home and orientated correctly.
