Perfect! We really like our dyson vac since it works so well … until lately. I thought there might be a problem in an area of the vacuum I’ve never cleaned. I took mine outside into the back yard and washed it out with a garden hose. The high pressure stream of water from the hose nozzle cleaned the unit very well.

Hi Alec! when you mention the #15 torx driver you should specify the word #15 SECURITY torx driver. I order a #15 torx driver, which was not the same and found out that the descriptive word SECURITY is very important. Hope everyone else is not as naive as I was. Thanks for the tutorial - I will try it out when I find the driver.

Our DC07 is from 2005. We have replaced every filter and looked for a blockage. We are convinced it's just 20 years old and the windings are shot. Just bought a new ball animal from costco for $480...it is miles ahead for suction but feels cheap compared to the yellow one.

I can't seem to get that pole in it's place to unlock the drop door to clean out the canister. Any suggestions?

My dc07 handle broke it plastic i want to remove the parts can you tell me how? The new handle is different colour so i want to use the colour parts from the old which are fine. Thanks if you can help, your vids are great keep em coming

Dyson seems to have added a proprietary screw to the replacement canisters. The T-15 torx has a small piece of metal sticking up right in the center preventing the torx from going in. What a pain in the butt. Who do they think they are, Apple?

I made the mistake of ordering a #15, which was not a SECURITY #15 - maybe the newer models of Dyson are more DIY owner friendly?

The DC07 from memory does not actually have handle parts. You have to replace the handle as a complete piece.

I washed it out with water with my garden hose and spray nozzle. More effective and deep cleaning.

He didn't remove the fins and the perforated ring either, not so much of a smart alec after all. There's no substitute for a pressure washer and leave the whole thing to dry out in the sun.

I suspect the majority of people don't own a second vacuum, for cleaning the first one??? I'd hoped you would add some advice, at the end, for those of us living in the real world???

You should be used to that, it amuses me that I have to use a very clean brush or another vacuum to clean the shroud (the thing that has loads of small holes that gets blocked up in the bin). You have to observe cleanliness otherwise it blocks far quicker. Notwithstanding i am a fan of Dyson.

You are wasting your time. You have to clean deep inside the roots. That is where all the hair and dirt clogs & form into like a bullet. What you have just done is nothing just clean the housing no offence.
