Two things; Robert Sput Searight, the keyboardist with the shades and brown long sleeve shirt, and Nate Werth the percussionists, are both long-time members of Snarky Puppy. They co-founded The Ghost Note Band and while Nate is still the primary percussionist with Snarky Puppy, Sput stopped performing with them right around the time Larnell started with the band. Second, a LOT of the audience members are professional drummers, some scheduled to perform at the Zildjian Live performances advertised on the end screen of the video. When you see pro's go wild, you KNOW dude is killing it!

If you loved this, you HAVE to watch Gergo Borlai’s Zildjian Live performance! Absolutely incredible.

Right after he pitches the drum up, he hits the wing nuts on those crashes. Insane. I’m surprised you haven’t done more Larnell or Snarky Puppy. Really enjoyed the video

You're making some really good observations. Even stuff I haven't picked up on from listening to this multiple times already

If you haven't yet seen "What About Me" by Snarky Puppy, then please do. Larnell goes nuts on the drums on that one.

If you have not seen the Snarky puppy Lingus from We like it here...You're late to the party. Larnell was a last minute addition to the band on that one! kzbin.info/www/bejne/gpC7e5Kpaq6mh8U

The drum with the black head is actually a big snare drum with a pretty thick head. Makes a cool sound

As a Canadian living in Australia for the last 20 years, your video made me realise just how much I love and miss a good "eh?" to finish off some choice sentences. I also learned a lot from you about drumming - you have a quick ear - and came across as humble about your knowledge. So Thanks! All the best.

All the best to you down under! I don’t notice how often we use it until I go places (which isn’t often at all lol) and when others point it out haha glad I could fill the void. And I appreciate the compliments! It’s kind of an old survival mechanism - I used to do live production for like every band in the area and when the band wasn’t for me, I had to find something to like haha. If there’s anything you’d like me to walk through please lemme know 😁

@@Beldvlmnt lol , it's a good skill to have. Sometimes when I'm singing other peoples stuff and I don't gravitate to the style or song I actively search for individual things/aspects I appreciate about it. Even if it's nothing about the music, even if it is just how nice the person is to work with, or if they are a good communicator etc. I always think that when people have played on my stuff they might not have liked it as much as I do, but I've been so grateful how much they have tried!! The technical side of things always slows me down so I appreciate when I can learn bits and not be overwhelmed by it! I am always amazed at what other ears pick up :-) And as a last note, you sound very similar to a lot of my family and early childhood friends. I originally hailed from Lethbridge/Calgary area and family is all from around Vauxhall and Taber. Good luck with your channel!

And sounds like we would appreciate a lot of the same things so I don’t blame you for leaving this place. LOL. There’s a ton of amazing art in Australia - I’m gonna make it down sometime and hit you up haha. Also this probably isn’t your style but please give it a listen lol kzbin.info/www/bejne/pXjIk4x8a9loecU

Just scrolled through all of your videos and noticed you haven’t reacted to ANY Snarky Puppy videos since Lalah Hathaway. Bro, listen, if you want to see more Larnell Lewis, LOOK UP SNARKY PUPPY. Specifically, start with Lingus (We Like It Here). Listen man… it is a MUST that you watch THIS particular video ASAP. And yes, I am peer pressuring you into the clan of Snarky Puppy fans because YOU WILL become one. After that check out Shofukan, What About Me, and Outlier. All of those are in the same catalog. You’ll see. Sir, come on now. We got some catching up to do. You’re gonna love what you hear. I can guarantee you that (in my Denzel Washington voice) Also, I appreciate your musical insight. They’re very… insightful. Educational as well.
