what happened to the aluminium monoposto that was not in the vault but upstairs, that was the rarest thing that was there...because i had discovered the cars more than 10 years ago, there were also ferrari speed boats in the castle, and there were two of the giuli sprint speciale, one was still in good condition, which was not down in the vault either, i still have many photos

The person who owned these beautiful cars was both saintly (for keeping them) and evil ( for not looking after them). Compare the 1961 Bertone Sprint Special with today's Touring of Milan, Disco Volante. Time doesn't seem to have any effect on wonderful design.

The Desmaisieres brothers (Michel and Ricardo) they were enthusiast collectors of Alfa Romeo cars. Michel was a keen racer and raced on the Zolder Circuit at the occasion of the TAC (Telrlaemen Auto Club). In 1964 he raced a prototype, known as ‘Le Bolide', powered by a Constantin Supercharger Fiat 1100 engine which finished in fourteenth place, that very car (No9) was also discovered abandoned for decades in a separate out-building next to the castle.

@Lazarus19407 жыл бұрын
Time. These cars did come to a point in their lives where they were the $500 beater car and may have been collected as such. As for the castle. the old aristocracies of the world have mostly died out due to later generations screwing up what their families gave them. We're lucky if a family business lasts 2-3 generations anymore, so an ancient family castle left to fail isn't really that surprising.

Very true, but surely there should be ways to save these buildings, convert them to apartments, hotels, offices. We see it regularly, buildings are left, weather and vandals get to work then millions get spent bringing them back or it costs a fortune to get them removed
