With each one of these video, you take me back to my roots, to my youth when my grandmother cook these dishes for me. My grandmother could cook anything. My mother learned some but not all and when I see a dish that I have not had in a long while, I have to smile and thank you for posting. Thank you for your hard work & dedication on this video. I don't think I could have done it especially in that heat :)

Hi TheBelizeanborn, you guys are the best. When I started out on this quest to have the show, it was truly just to get the word out about my book. I had no clue how to do it and fumbled my way through the 1st few videos until a theme materialized and pretty soon, I found that I love doing the show. You are right about dedication and boy was it hot that day, but it was so worth eating that meal and sharing with you guys. Thx for lifting me up.

I love watching your videos. I'm from the Grenada in the Caribbean but living in the UK. I just wanted to let you know all the food you and your husband cook and the way you cook them is exactly the same as we cook our food in Grenada. Beautiful, tasty and spicy. 😋💖💖💖

+Indira Rikat Indira I like how it's always my own Belizeans that's always trying to put me on blast about how to recipes are made. Leave that up to the foreigners to to that to me. Our people would be so much more successful of we could just uplift each other.
@indiracormier68358 жыл бұрын
No that was not what I was trying to do i watch a lot of your videos and I like them I was just commenting on how in corozal we make some of our stuff different than the city people do that was all we cook it in the coconut milk but we don't put egg and fish
@TheBarePantryShow8 жыл бұрын
+Indira Rikat Boil up is one of those dishes where you can eat it rich or poor. The rich put pigtails, eggs and fish. The poor puts only pigtails. I don't think it's a city vs district type thing why it was different. Thank you for explaining.

Hello and thank you for your videos! I've been in PG Belize for about six months now and I still have not been able to figure out the different flours. Can you elaborate on the BZ equivalent of all-purpose and self-rising flours? The bags here, as I'm sure you know, are simple clear bags, marked with "BA" or "LG" or others and nobody here really knows which one would be considered "self-rising" or "all-purpose" if you could help me with that, that would be phenomenal!
@rocquettelove2118 жыл бұрын
the BA.. IS Bebe Agua type is softer wheat flour.. kinda sifted more... then the regular flour..
@rocquettelove2118 жыл бұрын
+aqueenchi117 .. correct!... use the BA for Johnny cakes and baking and the LG FOR FRY CHICKEN, GRAVY AND THINGS....

@TheBarePantryShow6 жыл бұрын
Hector, you made me laugh so hard today. Most....not all, but most Belizeans age 50 and above refuse to watch my channel because they feel the can out cook me. The best part of it is, I always let people know I'm not the best cook, I just know how to teach well. My mom could out cook me, my husband is a boss in his kitchen too. Thanks for making my day.
