Bell 206LT TwinRanger Engine Startup and Takeoff

This extremely rare helicopter, the Bell 206LT TwinRanger C-GWXH was spotted a few days ago at CZNL in Nelson, British Columbia. The video shows the engine start-up and the helicopter taking off. This Bell 206 Long Twin is owned by Ascent Helicopters and is one of only 13 ever built, so it was definitely a lucky spot!

I was reading on another video that these twin Rangers are unbelievably rare. There were less than 20 of them ever built

What a beautiful bird , just curious though as to why was the Bell 206 LT TWIN RANGER helicopter produced in limited quantities? (Apparently around 13 helicopters produced in this iteration)

That's a good question, I was wondering that as well. It seems like it would be an in-demand machine, with the popularity of the 206 and demand for twins.

What are those vents on either side of the aircraft up near the main rotor shaft. Are those indeed air vents or vortex generators?

I'm pretty sure they are exhaust vents.

It could be, but the could sites I checked all said there were only 13 built by Bell. There are also some that have been converted to twins later on.
