Love this machine!!! Very little damage to the land compared to the large track harvesters in the hills. It is a shame these machines are so scarce. Keep up the great work!

You are quite an artist with that Bell! I have a Barko/Bobcat 1080 with a Timbco bar saw and I can't begin to work on slopes like that

Had an ultra t and loved it graduated to a 608 timberjack with a 22 inch hot saw then got a 759 j John Deere with the Deere hot saw all were good machines , of course there was a huge difference in production.

Holy crap steep hill batman, I've cut on a couple spots out west that steep with 445 timbco but the hill looks like a giant rototiller attacked it, the bell is so much lighter way less disturbing the ground. Thanks for the video boss.

this machine is a beast! What advantages/disadvantages would you say it has compared to a traditional large track feller butcher?
@GBLogging2 жыл бұрын
The cost to purchase and operate the Bell track machine is a lot less than a traditional Track machine, Bells are very fuel efficient and for the price of a final drive on a traditional machine I could replace alot of the Bells components. The Bell is just a all around cheaper machine to maintenance,operate and purchase. The traditional track machine burns more fuel cost more to fix when things break and the price tag isn’t even comparable ,but traditional machines are faster,stronger and more productive. A traditional track machine weighs 70,000 to 90,000 pounds and more so compared to the Bells 20,000 pounds it’s hard to compete with the performance of a traditional machine But with the right operator The Bell will cut,top and shovel 30+ tons a hour in that steep,/hilly terrain. We are a smaller operation and the bell works great for our setup we try to produce 450 to 600 tons a week with a two man crew This is just my option so take it for what it’s worth,

You better be careful or you are gonna make the "hotsaw" gods mad!! They stay mad at me all the time for embarrassing them in these mountains with a machine that costs half as much...LoL
@GBLogging2 жыл бұрын
Yeah I can’t believe how well these machines do in hills, at a fraction of the Cost of a leveler track machine. Iv watched a lot your vids and that machine your running is impressive!
@timberslasher48992 жыл бұрын
@@GBLogging we had a rubber Bell but it burned a few years ago. We didn't get a lot of use out of it. We were mainly working around Mountain City, TN and Banner Elk, NC at the time. But those track bells are impressive. We did cut one big job near Winston Salem while we had that Bell and it came in pretty handy there!
@romansehler5282 жыл бұрын
What head does that machine have? And what size can you cut efficiently? Also does that style head cut the stumps low? I run a wartah 622 and it very limited to where I can cut. Basically it leaves high stumps.
@GBLogging2 жыл бұрын
It’s a 30” cut, with a good operator it will cut 30” to 35” with ease and I’ve cut one as big as 50” but it takes a lot of time to cut one that big. And when I cut trees that big I don’t mess with cutting them really low. The bells don’t like butt swell I can cut smaller trees as low as I want as long as the flare isn’t to bad

It was originally, but the guy I bought it from swapped it to a Cummins so it’s pretty much a ultra c I guess

@@GBLogging Nice can’t go wrong there either! I’ve got a Deutz 5 cylinder air cooled in my Tree Farmer and I love that engine. I like it’s simplicity and price of repair.
@GBLogging2 жыл бұрын
@@jdatwood7086 yessir both very good engines. One problem they had with the duetz in the bell was over heating and when the engine run hot it heated up the hydraulics with the way the cooler was setup. But very good fuel efficient engines.

You boys need to get yourself a feller buncher
@GBLogging Жыл бұрын
Well for the smaller operations it’s hard to afford the big leveling track machines. When you aren’t trying to get 10 to 15 loads a day. I don’t think you could pay for one on 3 or 4 loads a day. The Bell is very affordable and will do a lot of work for a small machine. And do it for a fraction of the cost of the big feller bunchers.
