The caterpillar buncher rolled over on Friday night! Scotty D wasn’t hurt...that’s a good thing. Nothing was broke and he was back cutting in no time.

My Great Grandfather, his father, and uncles were wood cutters. But being Mennonites in the late 1800's, early 1900's it was all axe and mules at the time. It's amazing the forestry machines you guys use today.

'just another day in the woods', 'no-one hurt' now that is good interpersonal skills. Plenty of bosses would flip out and make hurtful remarks even though they placed the operative in the position that led to the incident. Top man, you are a star.
@garymiller14444 жыл бұрын
I’ve turned one over my self. The doors are insanely heavy to push up and open when on it’s side. And yes it happens more than people talk about. The machines are crazy tuff. Keep logging my friend.

Hi John: I was proud of the was you handled yourself yesterday. You got a skidded and calmly fix the problem. No shouting or picking on the guy. No wonder your father in law looks out for you. You have learned what to do and take care of problems. I hope the operator was not to sore to work today.

Been there, done that once in a Deere 640 ATAB another time in a 721e hydro-ax. Get em back on their feet, let the fluids settle, recheck levels and keep on keeping on. To me each time seemed like it was happening in slow motion. Have a safe and great week in the woods, John and the entire Cooks crew!

Man…there aren’t many bosses that would be this quiet, relaxed and understanding. If you spend enough time in the woods, eventually something like this will happen. Take care of it, make sure everybody learns something from it, and get on with the job!
@vrock2655 жыл бұрын
Good Boss! Nothing worse than having a boss yell and scream throwing a tantrum. Cant believe how nice and quiet your skidder is. Loud is tiring. When I was a kid the Amish had a skidder with a Detroit diesel. Holy cow you could literally here it a mile away.

I was going to say what an awesome cool calm and collected that boss is! Everyone has accidents and mishaps and to have an understanding boss is a blessing!
@johnhaehnel12065 жыл бұрын
Been there done that unfortunately. No one was hurt that’s the important thing. Nice recovery video but be careful with the chainsaw action without PPE. Big brother will sometimes go back and look after an accident. It happened to us. Love your videos and like you say keep on rolling. 🇺🇸

Glad Scotty is o.k. That's the main thing. A rubber tired rig will go before you realise it. I came in a gnats hindmost of turning a haul truck over. Loaded with dirt (stripping) heavy on my side and I was sidling on my side and dumping downhill to the front. BAD combo. It started over and I was thinking 'THIS is how it feels to turn one of these things over'; and hit the bed down as fast as it'd go and that truck never straightened back out till the bed set all the way down. THEN I hunted a flat spot, tilted to the right a little and dumped it. Never again. The Kawasaki would lift 18 tons at a time and was right stable all the way up but I had the rear end dancing with boulders but the bucket was dancing on the ground too. Live and learn and fasten that seatbelt! Prayers, BLESSINGS and hugs from Goomerish younguns!

Those wheeled hotsaws are made to roll flip and do other funky stuff and most likely he got 1 tire on a stump other in a hole and went to his side
