I think those convicted did it. Those first assassination attempts were very sloppy. They don't exactly scream professional hitman. As someone who worked for hospital consultants who treated cancer cases, I don't see how any medical professional could mistake poisoning for cancer. Some forms of cancer are very aggressive and sadly can kill very quickly. It's usually those with the biggest motive and they had the motive. Plus the magazine and wires were traced back to them. It's so sad that anyone can do this to their own family but it happens and people are more likely to be killed by people they know. I would love to hear about more Norwegian cases xxxx

I'll go with the simple explanation. Those convicted were the murderers. Greed was the motive for Per and Veronica. It's difficult to determine what the motives for the other two were (maybe they were promised a piece of land on the farm) and the extent to which they were involved. They all lied so much that none of the participants were credible, although in an odd way Kristin comes across as the most "honest."

So true
@karolina.nojber3 жыл бұрын
I had a really good laugh at this theory. I do remember Serbia in 1999, and later years, and if the Serbian mafia really wanted them dead, they would kill them in the first go. They wouldn't fail as many times as it was mentioned in this case. Also, if I understood correctly, there were no attempts to kill them during their years in the USA, which basically means someone targeted them only in Norway. It doesn't really make sense to follow them from Serbia to Norway, and then wait till they come back.
@maggiekarabel1233 жыл бұрын
@@karolina.nojber Yes this was not organized crime. It’s too sloppy. Also the mafia didn’t bring enough guns? That’s not a thing.
@orderudmysterier3 жыл бұрын
It's a well-known fact that Kristin Kirkemo, one of the four convicts, had contacts with ex-Yugoslavian criminals in Oslo. For many it's not an unreasonable theory that criminals within her circle might be involved, even though the real motive for the murders might lie elsewhere.
@orderudmysterier3 жыл бұрын
@@maggiekarabel123 The perpetrators brought two guns to the scene of the crime. That proved to be sufficient to murder three people. However it's interesting to note that one of the guns was used more sparingly and effectively, hitting the victims in the chest. If there were two murderers, that seems to imply one of them were better trained in the use of weapons.

Right before my great grandparents died, some ppl from their church had secretly gained power of attourney and used it to will the farm to them. They spent around 80% of the estate, took almost everything that wasnt nailed down and sold it, and the legal battle took about 10 years. Then, my grandma inherited the farm. When she eventually died, she had originally willed the farm to my mom and my aunt 50/50 split. But, my aunt pulled the same trick and spent about 80% of what remained of the estate. The legal battle between my mom and my aunt took around 5 to 6 years. My mom finally got her split. But by that point, there was basically nothing left to inherit. And this was a small farm that wasn't worth a lot of money compared to big ones. And that's what happens with family farms in the US. It's not just plausible, but 100% believable to me that they murdered over the farm. I have seen it happen time and time again in the farmland area where our farm was.

I really don't understand how anyone can murder someone else for money, and even more-so when that someone is family.

If the convicted were in fact guilty, the motive is probably more deep-seated than just money and greed. Per had worked on the farm his entire life and his father had promised him the farm and land more or less free of charge as payment for his hard work throughout the years, but ultimately he changed his mind and wanted a much higher price. That started the whole farm conflict. If the conflict resulted in murder, it's still absurd, but it's possible that years of disappointment and bitterness made them justify the act. However two of the convicts are still claiming to be innocent even after serving their prison sentences and want to reopen the case.

I had to listen to this twice and I still might be a little confused. What a twisted mess.

You did a good job. Keeping up with the names of each of the characters would have drove me crazy alone. I had to rewind a few times to keep up 🤯

In the 90 ‘S and before that, there were those thick directory books with people’s names, phone numbers and their addresses as well. If you didn’t like that, you had to ask the phone company to have your personal info removed from these books on their next edition ........crazy.

Yes, more European cases please 👏 I do enjoy the Australian cases too, though, the true crime scene focuses so much on cases from US
