the pure heroic nature of that father is unmatched. your wife is killed, both daughters are kidnapped and you pretend to be dead from their captors, get caught on fire, ride through the snowy forest on a snow mobile with no eyesight and getting help? how brave and incredible. good god i hope he did well and didnt have any permanent disabilities. i think they had bad home lives growing up and probably didn’t receive many presents.. when they first arrived and saw all those gifts and probably family portraits it probably made something snap in one of them. truly so so sad what they did to this poor family

It could be for official reasons in terms of the president and vp because the vp would take over, but with kobe and vanessa it was more for the kids

I was thinking when they Bella said they shot them how they’d go back to the cabin after that, but that they’d want to because it was the place they all went to to spend time together. But then Bella said the house was burned down and I got sad. I’m so glad they were able to rebuild it and spend time together there.

The terror and fear those poor young girls went through is unimaginable- that dad is amazingly strong. It’s always frightening to imagine that such evil lurks all around us and that a single random atrocious act by a vile monster can destroy so many lives in an instant. I guess we just have to hope that the good in the world outweighs the bad and try every day to have a positive rather than a negative impact in life - a kind word rather than harsh, a kind deed rather than ignore, build rather than destroy.

Actually, it's been proven to be extremely unreliable in a lot of cases-particularly with people you don't know. In a lot of cases you cannot rely on it unless you want to jail innocent people

I guess I just meant that these girls were so close in proximity to the perpetrators, they were all the same race, and they spent a significant amount of time with the men, so I would assume their “eyewitness testimony” would be better than others.

My husband’s parents always travel separately, even after all of their children are grown. A few years ago, we took a big family trip to Disney World, and we also separated each set of parents for the flights.

This is what’s wrong with the American system. These men have eye witness testimony but are given the approval to fight the sentencing... they delayed a death penalty for someone they knew murdered two women in cold blood. African-Americans have it differently in the States. What this family was put through was tragic but I’m glad they made it a point to overcome it all. Their father, Ralph, was and is a hero.
