I feel so bad for Rumple in this scene. Well, I feel bad for him most of season 3 actually... but seeing him be manipulated by Zelena was some screwed up stuff. And of course, Robert Carlyle does a great job of displaying the struggle - showing how Rumple really, really doesn't want to do any of this, but he simply doesn't have a choice. Getting to see Rumple at his weakest was not only incredibly sad, but thrilling at the same time.

Yeah this is weird I never thought rumble will be a rumble always finds loopholes to have enough time to think because right when he came back to life she grabbed the dagger he even tryed to trick zelena to get it back in one of the episodes but no luck

Belle... sweetie, there's a difference between "would never want to hurt you" and "could never." Dagger compulsion doesn't care what he wants. I mean, if Zelena wanted Rumple to jump on one foot while singing the Alphabet song, she could get it at this point! So pretty please with sugar on top just listen to him and get out of there!

When she reached out her hand, I wasn't sure Rumple was going to take it. He knew Zelena was there, but his love for Belle was stronger than her power. I so wanted them to kiss!

Tell me Zelena was only watching and not orchestrating the whole thing, including what Rumple was saying. This scene was heart-breaking enough without the entire interaction between Rumple and Belle not being real. Zelena was only waiting for Belle to get close enough so Rumple could finish what she had ordered him to do in the Enchanted Forest, wasn't she? But Rumple's love for Belle was strong enough for him to warn her.

I both love this scene and get annoyed by it. On the one hand it's incredibly sweet and heartbreaking to see Belle risking her life and the pair so torn up with Rumple warning her to leave. On the other hand the dialogue on Belle's end makes me want to face palm a little. She KNOWS how the dagger works. Rumple's natural desire never to harm her has nothing to do with what the dagger will force him to do and Belle should know that. It's frustrating to see a supposedly smart character fail to grasp a basic concept.

they are in a land without magic. although he brought it to storybrooke, his curse lies only within the Fairytale Land. that is also why he didn't look is cursed self in Neverland.

Ever since Rumple lied to Belle in the first episode of Season 2, about the Wraith going after Regina, he's never been able to truly love himself, or her. The kiss only works if both people truly love each other without holding back, and Rumple holds back because he loves his own power too much. The only time he didn't was when he didn't know he could be loved, back when Belle kissed him the first time. Since then though, he's been too afraid to open himself back up.

iRazenrak uh...no! They truly do love each other. Lies don't deminish how much you love someone. He lied to protect her (and maybe his ass). In fact, almost every time he has lied to her he did it to protect her. From others or hurting her feelings. He truly does love her and wants what is best for her. And Rumple has NEVER been able to love himself. You don't need to love yourself to love another person. And after everything he has been through, can you honestly blame Rumple for being afraid to open his heart again and love? He's been hurt and abandoned ever since he was a child. He's too emotionally damaged to be a perfect person everyone (including Belle) wants him to be. He truly loves Belle, but power has been the only thing in his life that hasn't hurt him (emotionally) or abandoned him. Even Belle, when his heart was pure white and cleaned, left him. Even when she got the hero she has always wanted, SHE STILL LEFT HIM! Of course Rumple is going to lie and feel to scared to open his heart and everything else. He knows nothing else because that all that pain is the only thing that has ever happened to him. You honestly CANNOT blame him for being the person he is. Blame Malcom, Milah, even Bae (who kept refusing to accept his father back and throwing any apology Rumple was giving back in his face) and Belle (who as I may reminding continues to walk away from him just because he's not perfect). Everyone's refusal of him has made him the person he is. Blame everyone else, not Rumple. He was just acting in natural response when someone's heart is broken, beaten, and nearly destroyed. If you think otherwise, and still blame Rumple for being an awful person and claim he's 100% responsible for all the shit in his life, you're as bad as you claim Rumple to be. Sorry (not really)

Most likely explanation is that if she entered the cage, she figured some type of bad magic would affect her/Rumple would possibly get physical/violent with her, especially with Zelena standing right there.
