You could just find a small rubber plug with a bit of a shoulder on one end to put partly inside that centre tube when placing the ground coffee inside the holder. That would allow easier distribution of the ground coffee into the whole holder rather than getting coffee all over your fingers.

Hi, Great informative and simple video. I have a Breville BES850 Barista Express at home that I absolutely love. I find it sooooo consistant and very easy to tweak and adjust to beans/ grind etc .... I need something for caravaning and at times without 240v (although I have a 3000W inverter to do the job temporarily - would rather not have to use this). Will I be able to replicate EXACTLY what I'm able to get at home (Almond Flat White - double shot) with the beans that I could either buy or pre grind at home? I have never used plunger coffee etc ...... and are not interested in going that way either!

Thanks. A couple of questions: This seems to be a low-pressure, slower extraction than a traditional espresso. How did the coffee taste compared with, say, Moka and full espresso machine? Was it good? Did you get an acidic first cup and bitter second cup?
@damian_smith3 жыл бұрын
Aeropress would be many people's current goto for travel - already from the steamer, how does it compare with that? Btw, I really enjoyed the "how it works" demo.
@ArtistiCoffeeRoasters3 жыл бұрын
The steam is fantastic and so easy to do 2-4 cups! The first brew was tasting like a traditional moka pot. The rich Esprssso is going to take some fine dialing in, as it brews to the top chamber and the dial is just opening up the top chamber to dispense it. It’s not like Esprssso where the water is forced thru because we opened the tap
@damian_smith3 жыл бұрын
@@ArtistiCoffeeRoasters oh that's interesting. So it's probably all brewed before the pressure is very high. Your target of 1 bar is just to allow you to steam the milk. Thanks - that's much clearer now!

@@ArtistiCoffeeRoasters the "is it comparable to an espresso vs moka brew/taste" is what i think many are wondering (thanks Damian Smith for having asked), i'm from Italy (hi) where we all have mokas, some still use the old-fashioned flipdrips (i do) but we lack a real cheap simple home espresso maker (as far as i know at least). Other than an expensive, electric, maintenance-needing machine. And espresso would be best for milk drinks. Apart from: different extraction, taste, crema, etc. Only options to my (little) knowing are: handpresso (bit like a bike pump); simple lever tool (can't remember the name but jamed hoffman reviewed and approved, they go by same prices as these there)... Your video is great, I'll watch more, however I'm still left wondering about the espresso vs moka thing. Honestly to have a moka-like brew, i might as well be better off with a simpler (and 3 times cheaper, or even less) moka and a milk frother. But it's the crema I'd like to have. It's not like a bar espresso, but apparently it does deliver a good amount of crema. Hmmm... lol

So something I've been think about with this model and that I've definitely noticed with using the measure as to tamp - by creating a hole essentially around the central canal, it contributes toward channeling of water through the coffee, reducing the consistency of the flow out. I’ve got a fundamental question. You say that with the Bellman you can control the amount of coffee going into the cup. How is that different from pouring coffee out of a moka pot? I mean you just stop pouring from the moka when you’ve got enough. I’m trying to understand the whole coffee process as I await my Bellman to arrive.
@patkillalea39172 жыл бұрын
And another question. 65 degrees you say is the ideal temperature for the milk. But I don’t see any thermometer. It seems you might be getting the temperature judging by the foam?
@ArtistiCoffeeRoasters2 жыл бұрын
You measure the temp from a thermometer in your milk. 65 is the sweetest temp of milk.
@ArtistiCoffeeRoasters2 жыл бұрын
It’s similar in its brewing to a moka,?but you can’t just tip it up as it’s pressurised, so the tap allows you to start and stop the flow of the espresso
@jimcole4151 Жыл бұрын
@@patkillalea3917 many experienced baristas simply approximate this with their hand, based on the feel of the outside of the jug.
@jimcole4151 Жыл бұрын
With a typical moka pot, the water simply pushes up through the grounds whenever it reaches high enough pressure to do so. In that case, the actual Brew pressure is determined by how fine your grind is and how much coffee you put in. On this unit, the ability to control the flow of hot water through the grounds allows you to aim for a specific pressure range, and maintain that range by increasing or decreasing the flow. Hopefully you're enjoying creamy espresso from your machine by now!

These type "espresso" pots will never produce the same output(true espresso) as a high pressure steam espresso machine. That said, if multiple cups are dispensed in one run, dispense it into a larger container and pour cups from it to have consistency across all cups. Whatever the taste, good or bad, will be consistent.
