Thank you! It is among the most sonically rewarding songs to play, without a doubt.

Thank you very much! I believe it's one of the quintessential Byrds songs, best representing their sound.

You are too kind, thank you! It always gets a great response from everyone - especially our bass player ;-)

Your cover is excellent....kudos to you all. The last note lasts for 16 beats, both on your version and the original by The Byrds. I have always wished it continued for another 16....it's so beautiful and so haunting.

Thanks, Jeff! The guitar is a Phantom Guitar Works Iain McLennon Limited Edition 9-string. It has a piezo pickup under the bridge that just makes it sing. Cheers, Iain

Excellent! I'm a twelve-player myself and this is one of my favorites to play as well. You guys sound more like The Byrds than they do.

Thank you! We performed a showcase concert last night from which we hope to have captured some formal video of the new group which we'll post as soon as possible. Cheers, Iain

You guys are doing it! Love your respectful covers. I hope you guys are still playing, keeping it alive. Rodger, Chris, and Gene (R.I.P.) would be proud. Cheers.

Thank you for the kind words Nick!! Unfortunately we lost three members of the band, and it became impossible to keep finding replacements; so our versions of The Byrds music lives on in audio and video recordings we made. Cheers for sure!!

One can only hope we've approached such a noble goal - Merci, beau coups! All the best of the holiday season, Iain

Thank you very much! It's one of mine, too, but it seems to be something of a cult hit despite its being one of the classic examples of the Byrds' serious Rickenbacker sounds. Cheers, Iain McLennon

Hi, Thomas! Thank you for your kind comment. We'd love to have continued, but two out of five does not a band make - RIP. I'd like to think someone else out there is having the fun that we did. Cheers, Ian

@@richwahneEXPERTSmadeEasy Roger McGuinn brings his solo show to any one of several venues here in Connecticut where I live and I try to see him every visit. Some years ago he played at the Katherine Hepburn Center in Old Saybrook and I attended the show. At the souvenir table before the show was an attractive dark haired woman speaking to the customer ahead of me in line. She was remarking that "We were and there" at several places around the country, and so on. I guessed she was Roger's wife and when it was my turn I asked "You must be Camilla?" and she admitted that was true. We chatted for a few minutes and I mentioned that at a previous show at Infinity Hall in Norfolk, Connecticut, I was somewhat disappointed that "Bells of Rhymney" was not performed and asked if it might be in the set list that evening. "Oh, I don't know about that" she replied. The show started and Roger played his first set then took a break. He came out for the second set and, sure enough, "Bells" was the third song in. I stood up and gave a very visible two thumbs up. After the show I went back to the souvenir table to thank Camilla for the show and asked if my request had put the song in the show. "Oh, I'll never tell" she replied with a grin. Whether it did or not I can always believe my request had put "Bells of Rhymney" into the show that evening

Thank you! We're trying hard, and hopefully this year, the 40th anniversary of the Summer of Love, will be a huge opportunity for people to hear what it sounded like back then (only with better P.A.'s). Cheers, Iain McLennon

Hi! Yes, it is a custom Phantom 9-string made to my specs by Jack Charles (Quarterflash) of Phantom Guitar Works. It's a triple pickup guitar with an additional piezo pickup under the tremolo bridge. Thank you for noticing! Cheers, Iain (with an "I")

Wasn't much of a Moody Blues fan but DID like some of their songs (Knights in White Satin & Singer in a Rock and Roll band being 2 of them). They still play our area of Ohio every 2-3 years.

Lionel...GREAT catch!!! Iain McLennon (the dude in the tie-dyed Peace t-shirt) is playing a 9-string Phantom, which has an extremely similar sound to the Rickenbacker 12. That being said, and don't tell anybody I told you this, he also plays a Rickenbacker 12, and we doubled up the tracks when we recorded Bells. We thought it would be really cool to use the Phantom in this video. His Rickenbacker is a the Roger McGuinn signature model that was used in some of the later Beach Boys recordings. We really appreciate the comment, and thanks for watching! The ByrdBrains! (Rich...The Bass Player)
