Belos is Heartless (The Owl House)

What the heck is up with that heart we saw in Belos' throne room in season 1 of The Owl House? Was the crew gonna do something with it before the show got cut short? How would Belos have even reacted?
Well I decided to put these questions into everyone's favorite villain's head so he can wonder alongside the rest of us fans.

It turns out Belos didn't actually have a plan with the heart. He only just realized its true potential after the Collector mentions its the Titan's heart and it could cancel out the Collector's magic. So yeah, he really did put it there for decoration.

It’s probably because he claims to be able to talk to the Titan. Except that guy’s a skeleton and it’s kind of hard to talk to someone dead. Big beating heart, though? It’s proof that the Titan is alive in some way. Basically, he uses it as a very weird pulsing piece of propaganda.

The fact that Belos pretty much just kept the heart for decoration to his throne room and that he was only thinking of a plot with it right at that moment is from this video and is now canon. Both Luz and Belos in this video were onto something! Also the finale was awesome!

Yk there are so many things I’ve noticed on rewatch of the owl house. -Heart is never brought up again -Luz never uses the construction glyphs… why? Also side note:Why is everyone surprised when they see Luz use glyph magic when construction glyphs have been around forever -Hooty never opens his mouth again as a way of letting them enter the house -Wands are never brought up again and why didn’t luz try and find one since it let her do magic beyond what the glyphs allowed. -Eda has a profitable potions business, (which is never brought up again). Like seriously! Why are they scrounging for bounties in season 2 when they could just have luz go and sell potions??

1. Yeah the heart is weird, but it was probably dropped in favor of The Collector 2. The construction glyphs are clearly different than typical glyph magic, they seem to function more like enchanted items instead of proper glyphs that channel the magic around them 3. Hooty is just Hooty. Hooty pulls all sorts of weird things constantly and honestly it's best not to question it. 4. Luz decided that learning magic without relying on a wand and instead embracing the way of magic that came to her was the better way. 5. I'm actually not certain about this one, but if I had to guess with Lilith, Hooty, King, and Luz around, the potions just weren't enough to keep them afloat financially anymore. Plus, people were probably more hesitant to buy from her and sell ingredients to her after the events of Young Blood, Old Souls. I mean we see that all respect has been lost for her, so it makes sense that people wouldn't respect her business either.

The way though the construction coven glyph worked with Amity was by boosting her existing spells. She was still casting the spells normally, but in the case of Luz's glyphs they are the spell. Construction coven glyphs just don't work like that. As for the potions, we do get a possible explanation with Lilith's spying potion and Eda's truth potion. Remember how much hassle it was for them to get the ingredients without regular magic. Lilith could have died without Hooty's rescue and Eda might not have been able to get the ingredients she needed without Edric's help.

as far as the wands one go i kinda think saying "it let her do magic beyond what the glyphs allowed" would be a bit of an exaggeration. from what we got to see of the want its more like a starter toy that gives an idea of what your magic should look like, whereas the glyphs are the building blocks for all magic meaning they would far surpass the wand once learned better.

Okay so, if I had to guess, I think the heart is a dropped plotline. See, the writing staff originally didn't know if they wanted to include The Collector or not and only decided to include them AFTER the cancellation of the show. Which means that in all likelihood the heart is just a remnant of the pre-collector Belos plot.

To be honest, I feel it’s a Titan heart, but that leaves questions like “wHy DoNt BeLoS jUsT uSe ThE bLoOd FrOm ThE hEaRt tO mAkE a pOrTaL?” And if we take that into consideration with my theory, there could be two outcomes 1.
