Got down to -3 degrees during this chest session. Did incline barbell press for first time in a long time. Do I go after this for 3 plates alongside getting bigger biceps??

Barry it’s very cold today, I also trained this afternoon in my Gym and all the weights and bars were freezing to touch, I still managed to get a good workout. Keep grinding away and share your positivity. Happy New year to you and your family

aye go for the incline bench. Ive just started doing incline bench for the first time in the last few weeks after straight bench pressing for a few years and its definitely helps with the straight bench. I'm 54 and have been training on and off for years. Benching 120 sets of 3 x 6 reps and inclining 100kg 3 sets of 4 reps after only a few weeks so your workouts are a good yard stick for me personally and is giving me the inspiration to push harder. I have an indoor gym, not as extensive as yours and go to gym 3 times a week with at least one bike ride a week but 2 a week in the summer months. This year my aim is to get to somewhere between 140 and 150 on the bench.

Yer. I'm going to attack the incline and aim for 140kg

I live in Edmonton Canada have trained in - 35 in the garage with my boys wearing hoodies and gloves did a west side speed bench session 16x3 30 seconds for the first 4 sets a minute for the rest finished with a dumbbell JM press training never gets old👍

-35 is insane. Thats -32 less than I was complaining about. Built stronger in Canada :)

Great job as usual Barry. Even though you have frost on your Ferrari outside your garage gym, I'm sweating just watching you train so hard! 😉

Just come back in from my session in the garage. Its bloody freezing today. Reminds me of the old school gyms I used to train at. Freezing in the winter and sweltering in the summer. No heating or air conditioning. 😂

Loving the idea of doing the road to 140 incline along side 20" arms. Would/will be some achievement hitting those. I wouldnt bet against you though..

Have you looked at infrared heaters (thinks that what they are called) - they heat you rather than the air or something. I used to have one in my garage gym

Nice goal to go for definitely. Willing to bet getting that 140 will raise your regular too by a nice amount. Out of curiosity, what sort of angle is that incline on?
@barrythomsonliftsАй бұрын
I'm thinking it'll raise flat too. Its just above 45 degrees I reckon. Any higher and its too anterior delt

Love the pressing, my shoulders are not cooperating at the moment now and that's a bit demotivating. Working around it and rehabbing. Seeing this and i'm staying at it! Now I'm probably a pussy, but why not switch on an electric blower and make it a tad more comfy? And people don't come a me for being a wuss 😄 I've been out in the field, but you also learn that it's selfcare to make yourself as comfortable as possible when and where you can! I train in a cold garage too btw. With blower 😐😄 Happy new year and let the gains begin.
@barrythomsonliftsАй бұрын
Thank you. Electric blower makes sense. I've got one in summer house next to garage

any reason you don't get a diesel heater fitted

You'll get 140 on the incline,that I have no doubt barry,cos that's down to your will power, which you have in abundance, don't like to doubt you on anything, proove me wrong, but bicep size is more genetics, you could train them for 10years, still not get there,think the weights your shifting, is alot more impressive than inches,keep the focus ,ice-man going for the top guns, peace out.👍
@barrythomsonliftsАй бұрын
Cheers Jason. I'd like to get 140kg on incline. I also want 20 inch biceps 💪 :)

Big big risk for injury i would never work out in conditions like that . An injury could set you right back

Bench is much more realistic, 20inch arms road is only open to steroid users unless u want 20 inch fat arms!
