In our latest low effort offering, I go over what I consider to be one of the most important lines of equipment for most people in most situations. There are exceptions, but let's not get too deep into the 'tism.
Featuring Eagle Industries, GBRS, Crye Precision, Haley Strategic, Esstac, etc.

Totally agree with your philosophy on belts. There is nothing more useful than a good belt to hold your holster and magazines and other essential gear for range days, training, civil defense, etc. I own a plate carrier as well but 90% of the time it stays at home collecting dust. I have a HSGI Suregrip slotted battle belt that is still going strong after 6 years of good solid use. My dump pouch (a heavy duty 1000D cordura from a small American manufacturer) comes in so handy on range/training days as I use it for almost everything: spent mags, shot timer, markers, phone, water bottle, snacks.....I even put a bearded dragon in there that I found one day while training in the desert I kid you not! I highly recommend getting the small bungee strap from T.Rex Arms for your dump pouch as it eliminates any flopping around. Enjoyed the video.

@@sectorseven07 Totally! The little guy was way chill too...he didn't mind being handled and he didn't try running away from us either. It was actually kinda weird. Eagle Industries belt gets a lot of hate on KZbin, but I love mine. 2 biggest complaints everyone has about it are my favorite 2 features. One thing is people complain that the molle doesn't come all the way to the end. I love that because it allows more adjustability, especially when wearing over coats. Second thing is the hook and loop is "on the wrong side." For me, it isn't. I use the HSGI pad like you do, but if one doesn't have the pad, you can still run it that way, and the loop won't tear up your clothing.

Question: Is that the Sun and Shadow .5" riser? If so, how do you like it? How does it align with the Unity riser? Is it relatively secure with the velcro attachment?

Great question and good eye. The answer is yes across the board. I originally got it for my SPR build but found the .5 to be too high for a 1.7 height scope, yet absolutely perfect for the 2.26 of the unity. The Velcro is very secure. Also sun and shadow ships rapidly and I appreciate that.

Is that just a KIWI Pistol pouch holding the flashlight? How well does it work? and what do you do if your running 2 pistols where do you put your light? I went the same route, I got a belt setup first that someone was selling. Came with mag pouches for pistol ar and misc. for fairly cheap because I had no idea what I needed so someone already did the hard part for me on figuring something out that atleast works. I also so you on tactical gear bb.
@sectorseven07
@sectorseven07 Жыл бұрын
I would put the light in a pouch on other kit or in a pocket if I ran two pistol mags. But I generally only run two pistol mags for range work. For actual work I'd only run one on the belt.
@kylemacmillan652
@kylemacmillan652 Жыл бұрын
@@sectorseven07 Why only one pistol mag? I'm guessing your focusing on using your rifle more so than pistol. I usually hang stuff with clips in my cumberbund since I dont run side plates. I've been trying to see if someone makes an admin pouch that is semi rigid and would fit in the side plate pocket. I think that would be pretty nice for people who dont like running stuff on the exterior of their cumberbund like me.
@sectorseven07
@sectorseven07 Жыл бұрын
@@kylemacmillan652 Yeah, three pistol mags as an absolute maximum but generally two overall pistol mags is my MO. Because I have a .mil perspective moreso than a police perspective, I don't really consider pistols to take precedent when wearing full kit is the order of the day. For something you'd likely only use in very specific situations and extreme close range, carrying some four or five mags takes up space that can be better utilized elsewhere.

I love the idea of a belt but practically it never quite works out for me. Needing a gas mask and having a low fitting IOTV probably doesn’t help though
@sectorseven07
@sectorseven07 Жыл бұрын
It's a shame they went back to the IOTV. They let us run Tac Tailor plate carriers all the way back in 2010. Also current mil issue rucks don't play well with belts either, more something you'd need to pack out and put on prior to patrolling or assaulting. Every problem you have could be remedied if your unit would allow personal purchased gear but in a time of peace that's hard to come by.
