Infantryman and Medic go over their gear

Had to totally edit over the first minute because of pesky copyright laws. Sorry.
The title says it all. A prior infantryman and current medic run some drills and then go over their gear in a very informal non scripted way, count how many times I say "plus up."
There is no one right way to set up your gear, but there are many wrong ways to do so. This kind of thing is a good exercise in shaking down your equipment and identifying strengths and weaknesses both in your kit and in yourself. My kit is by no means perfect, and I'm always messing and tweaking with it to try and make it better or fit different needs.

Good points on having the ability to have some access to light but reducing your signature as much as possible. We also think that is valuable and have been working on a solution that affords both. Can't wait to share it. Live Free. 🤙

great stuff! love watching these- in 30m you might pick up one or two small things you hadnt thought of before, but theyre really useful. all i can offer in return- battery compartments are needlessly expensive. instead of loose batteries, you can use electrical tape to hold them together in useable packs. just make sure to cover the ledes as well.

I'm pretty brushed up on CLS, but I haven't attended an official US government sanctioned CLS class in 10 years. But without advanced care most people will die beyond basic extremity gunshot wounds. You aren't surviving a tension pneumothorax or an abdominal gunshot wound in a "grid down shtf" situation without advanced care. So I prioritize hemorrhage control. Thanks for the view!

Great video gents, would love to see a video going over what y'all usually keep in your rucks or just a review of how you like them. I currently use a hill people gear ute, their frame stay system is great for keeping weight off traps and most weight sits on your hips, the rest is distributed into your lumbar. However I've been looking into the exo mountain gear system so it was neat to see it during the intro.
@sectorseven07
@sectorseven07 9 ай бұрын
We're actually working on that as we speak! The ruck featured in this video is an Exo mountain 4800, and I wanted to cover that and my reconnaissance rig (and slip a T rex arms chest rig review in there) in tandem. In fact, this video was originally going to be that but when my medic buddy showed up to run some drills with me we switched gears halfway through and just decided to go over our kit. Hence why it's so informal.

Dots and holos are great for close and range shooting but I just can’t stand the eye box and eye reliefs of magnifiers. I guess I’d prefer a good SFP lpvo where there is a very forgiving eye box and relief on a suppressed sbr. Should have enough capability and not be too burdensome to use and carry. Plus, easy to put a piggy back or canted dot for the best of both worlds.

So how have your adventures with the AVS been? I’ve been working with mine and have had trouble with it interfacing with a ruck as well. Some people have tried the micro harness, but that might defeat the purpose of the AVS in the first place. I’m being pushed into joining a light infantry regiment, so doing movement on foot is going to be something I’ll be doing a lot of.

I did it one better and ran a super 42 rifle length on a vltor a5 on my urgi when I had it and the recoil impulse was practically nothing, but it did fail to lock back on empty sometimes. Now that system is in my new m4 carbine build and I run just a normal H buffer on a super 42 on the new Geissele build and it's also quite smoothe. So my point is, it'll work.

I think it's a natural symptom of the ongoing sickness of the world. I think that it will continue, it will progressively destabilize us until finally enough pushback occurs that we become more insular than ever before. I think that as the walls of climate change, population and demographic challenges, and the imminent collapse of the global economic order we will see many people flock to us for sanctuary. Equatorial and arid regions particularly will suffer from food and water shortages and energy crisis which will result in massive increases in social unrest and sectarian violence and more people will attempt to get into America in order to escape that. We will have to either adjust to that reality and find a good solution to create a thriving system or we will have to start looking further inward.

Dont get me wrong i love the kit, but whats the point in it if youre not currently serving in an active unit? A lot of ppl are doing this for "SHTF" but when and why would you go anywhere fully kitted up wearing multicam? A slick PC with nothing on it and a micro rig you can hide under a long shirt would make more sense no?
@sectorseven07
@sectorseven07 9 ай бұрын
Well let's address the active unit situation first. The situations that people consider SHTF would in most cases activate many people who aren't currently serving in an active unit to do so. You never know what someone's situation is. Look at the war in Ukraine. There's nothing to say I won't flex back into an active role at some point. Secondly, there's also the factor of spreading that knowledge to other people who are in an active unit. Some 18 year old private in the Army may not have the budget to test out a Crye JPC vs an SPC vs an AVS. They could benefit. Third, for hobby use. You can remove the ballistic plates, put in training plates, and go play airsoft with people not just for the fun factor but also the additional training both physically and with weapons manipulation. Fourth, because it's our right to do so and it's fun. Perhaps I miss the aspect of wearing gear and training that I had in the military and didn't wish for that particular aspect of the military to end. Perhaps I want to look cool. Perhaps I have a chip on my shoulder. Perhaps I want to prepare. Who knows. It's just simply my right.

@@sectorseven07 dont misunderstand my comment, im not attacking your reasons, i was simply curious as to the thought behind it. I did 12 years myself in the Australian army and only left just over 2.5 years ago, so i get it and to be fair i did the same when i got out when i saw blood banks moving to the Ukr border. Besides that, i was always known as a gear wh*re because i loved testing out new equipment so id agree it is fun. I didnt catch the reason in the video which is why i assumed it was for a domestic shtf type scenario.

@@KipKil1iganmany people frame it that way when the chances of some big domestic scenario requiring rifles is so remotely slim that it's far more intelligent to protect yourself in other ways, like financially, or with fitness. For me it's just that it's a passion and a hobby, and that the added side of it being informative for other people is a bonus. Additionally there's a culture to it here in the US. I've met some of the best people I've ever met in this culture and am always looking for new friends. I'm sorry if I came off defensive.
