@ToolShow the scetchup file shows different lengths for the legs one is 2' 6 1/2" and the other are 2' 5". is this a typo or is that accurate? basically asking so I make sure I have right cuts and that just seems wrong

You probably could have found a threaded rod coupler that's the same size as those adjustable feet, and then just drill a hole in the 4x4 and epoxy or hammer them in.

Miter Saw Safety Tip (1:38) - Risk of blade rolling the 4x4 above spacer, causing wet pants. At the beginning of each cut (1:46), the teeth are pulling the 4x4 slightly upward. Your particular situation isn't as risky as some, but just a quick note to use a taller spacer when cutting taller wood. Good video as always.

Hey Rob, how long did it take you in sketch up to create your drawing? Also have you ever used fusion 360, I’m thinking of trying it. They give you tubers free software for a bit of promotion wink wink

So it didn't take that long Eoghan. Making the scale model of the M18 saw took about 2 hours, but that was more for fun than anything else. I like modeling. The bench took a few hours, but a lot of that is due to my inexperience with bench building. I kept changing my mind on not only the physical structure, but also on how I would assemble it. You'll see next week that I didn't put notches in the legs for the support table for the actual table saw. That's so when it's time to mount it, I can hold it up with clamps, and micro adjust it on all 4 legs until the saw's table top is EXACTLY flush with the bench top itself. It makes the table uglier in my opinion, but I rather have the accuracy. As for Fusion 360, my brother who has been 3D printing several experimental designs for me, asked me to switch to F360 because the 3D printing world (at least his) benefits far more from it. So I'm learning it now. So far, it's almost exactly like Sketchup, and super easy to adapt to. However, I'm not really the guy to tell you to use one over the other. I'm sure there are many videos that dive into that. Thanks for watching!

Just a small word of advice. I hang all of my levels from one hanging point, all levels have a hang hole at one end. You just have a much smaller chance of ruining your level's straightness.

Great video! But why would anyone build a huge monstrosity of a workbench around a portable battery powered table saw? Just saying....

David Gold budget and portability. We don’t plan on having a shop saw on this show, so like a lot of other people, we’re making the best with what we have!
@SYBEX21
@SYBEX21 2 жыл бұрын
Portability of the saw. It can still be put on the factory frame and rolled to a jobsite, with a quick tune up of the fence and blade you can have it back as a "cabinet saw" or that is at least why I build mine to do.

nuclear explosion good question. It’s flat. Real flat. Also cheap. And when you stack it 3” thick, it’s very heavy and strong. This will be my “shop saw” so I wanted weight.

The feet are my favorite part. :) We are in a VERY uneven garage, so the wide range of adjustment allowed us to easily level the table. I'll post a link to the Grizzly spare parts with PART 2. (Which goes up tonight at 6pm)

No itt doesn't allow 120v ac power, battery only bit the 12ah battery is more than enough power for most projects.. I have that and the 10" miter saw as well..
