Apparently, the purosangue was already in the works before the crown was unveiled. So unless Ferrari has someone feeding them info from inside the Toyota design division, this might be chalked up as a really weird coincidence

Who ever was first, I'm wondering why one hasn't sued the other. There are elements that are a total carbon copy. Maybe someone can chime in with the legalities when it comes to copying design elements.

The Crown Sport is the one that really looks like the Purosangue. The new Toyota design language, with the hammerhead design in the front, does look similar to the Ferrari front end but Toyota’s been working on that new design language for a while

The Venza is ELEGANT! I cant believe you think it’s “weak.” I hate this aggressive styling trend so much. To me the Venza is much more what the Toyota brand represents. Very rarely has a timeless design been aggressive. Name a car! These cars aren’t *beautiful*. They’re just load. Which is a lazy, and misguided approach if you ask me. Can we bring back beauty please?

I absolutely love the side and rear view of the Venza. I also think the Crown Sedan looks AMAZING (at least in person, it also gets better MPG than the signia).

@@djplonghead5403 it’s a gorgeous car! I have the same issues with the Crown that I have with this suv though. To be fair I haven’t seen either in person so I’ll reserve my final opinion until then.

What's particularly appealing to me is the front black stripe cutout reminiscent of supra mk.2 pre-facelift. An icon of the great car designs. Overall, agree this crown is a nice design car.

9:23 The funny thing is, the Bentley Bentayga, a luxury SUV with a $203,200+ MSRP doesn't have the rear wiper tucked under the roof spoiler. And yet, SUVs like the Lexus RX have it under the roof spoiler. All luxury or semi-luxury SUVs like the Crown Signia would look so much better if the rear wiper wasn't visible.

You're a mor0n f you think ferrari (or any other car brand) is capable of copying the entire design of a car in mere months, when usually the design is the first thing that is finalized years earlier. The time difference between reveals is too small for either of the manufacturers to copy each other. According to wikipedia Purosangue development began in 2017 so its more than likely it's either a coincidence or toyota doing a bit of spying on ferrari

Toyota Crown Signia GR....with 6 speed manual and take that 3 cylinder engine they make it, double it up into a V6, and lets go.

The problem with the modern EV design is there are more body colours that makes it looks like a blob when compare it with the ICE car design with the black contrasting front air vent piece that makes the car look less flat and dull.

It has an eCVT, not a CVT. eCVT is a completely different transmission from CVTs. They're extremely robust and probably the most reliable kind of transmission you can get.

Not sure why Crown Sport doesn't come to US in its original design but uses a much worse design instead. But what for sure is it cost more to redesign the exterior and produce parts. Actually Toyota always release shallow and ugly products in US, you will definitely know if you compare the same model between US version and Europe version, Japanese version or Chinese version. And in most cases, these cars in US is even more expensive.
