Bravo! I so appreciate your communication skills in sharing colour theories and methods. It breaks my heart when I see a fabulous technical quilt that dies because of the colour usage. You are sharing critical knowledge that will inspire beautiful quilting.

Fantastic video! Cannot thank you enough for sharing this one. There r many videos talking about scrap quilts, piece sizes, colours, but the way this video addresses all these together, there r not many to reach there. Loved loved the organisational charts n branching diagrams in between. Those conveyed the principles so well!

Great and informative teaching on the color wheel. Art was my favorite subject in school. What is interesting is Judy’s is geared analytical and her presentations are relatable to the mathematical world. She is great at using color theory. I personally do have a great eye for colors and have never relied on the color wheel. However I see how handy it is for lining up the shades and depths of colors of ones in question as the a color falls with in it’s respective color on the color wheel. Because of her analytical brain she has figured out a great method for how we can use 3 sizes of blocks to create numerous quilts with the original cut sizes. Judy what a great presentation! Sooooooo informative how colors with no matter the print can be used in quilts as long as we al line those colors with in the perspective color with in the color wheel. Thank You, Kathy Myers Bess Admin for ‘Conquering Mount Scrapmore with Brenda’

I've quilted for a long time. Not as great as many. I am intimidated by scrap quilting. At 71 years of age I have more scraps than I like to admit. I think you have shown me an old dog, can learn new tricks. Thank you.

You are not alone Carolyn! Most of us are drowning in beautiful scraps. This approach is excellent and I love Judy's colour sorting/organizing tips. I have really searched for fun and easy scrap busting methods...most are tiresome and boring...and Judy's work as does the Terry Rowland approach (which is my tv watching activity) kzbin.info/www/bejne/aIa0dmiJobR_p8k

I love the idea of a huband bin. Sadly mine passed away 25 years ago. He was a great artist. I live with my 43 year old son. He has been my go to when in doubt of colors. So I will call my bin the man bin I think. Or the Corey Bin.

A color wheel is great, but I really love the Ultimate 3-in-1 Color Tool. It based on the same scientific principles as a color wheel, but goes even further. It's an amazing tool for quilters, knitters, and more. Looking forward to getting a copy of the Judy's latest book.

I've been quilting for over 55 years and I think this is best scrap quilting lesson I have seen - and I've looked hard!!! :) With your blue quilt, you asked what we would do. I love blues and yellows together, so that is what I would probably do. :)

What I’ve come to realise is that there are quilters who create a set of rules for themselves and work within those rules. In this case, the size of the squares, the specific colour schemes ie adjacent and pieced “calm” areas. It’s taken me a while to work out what they are actually doing, because their method is presented as a method that’s already developed understanding how and why it works dosnt always make itself clear. And now I can work out a set of rules (that can be fluid! 😂) that works for me!
