awesome video. i love when bpak "rambles" lol, i soak up any info a top bodybuilder is willing to give and its actually tough to get any info from alot of bodybuilders so its nice that bpak is so willing to share such good info, thanks for posting this

Really good advice from this guy. It seems rare for guys to mention tension and feeling the burn. So many people are focused on training to fail (failure), and lifting heavier weight, neither of which guarantee or are even optimal for building MUSCLE.

do you want to go slow in the positive of compound moves for example?, i have always been told you are supposed to go explosive in the positive and slow down in the negative.

what good is a fully develop body with no strength. For example it's like a beautiful muscle car or a 2014 Corvette. new paint job, new tires and rims. and then you pop the hood. no engine
@loganhoover8291
@loganhoover8291 10 жыл бұрын
Well if you are a bodybuilder, then your goals are strictly aesthetic based. So although I will obviously gain SOME strength while attempting to grow, I don't care. Some people want to walk down the beach and look amazing. For instance I LOOK better than one of my buddies. I weigh roughly 195 and he weighs about the same (maybe 5-10 pounds less). I work up to 225 on squats, he works up past 400. I believe at his strongest he was around 550 for a single rep. Now that was his goal. So lifting is strictly goal based. How you approach it is also goal based. So some people want that Vette engine in their Corvette, but many people would take a Corvette with a Cavalier engine. Just depends on the person.

Most IFBB Pro's bench press around 500 pounds average. I'd say that's fairly strong

Tension is good, logical and intutitive but cheats also help growth....you still have to go heavy to grow so weights used should always go up with the main reps being strict....YES????
@megaguitar01
@megaguitar01 10 жыл бұрын
Muscles actually do not understand what weight you lift with. They just understand the torque. needed to contract so if you make more tension you're basically using more weight.
@mensa517
@mensa517 10 жыл бұрын
megaguitar01 that's a contradiction---muscles do understand amount of weight.....if too heavy, they will not cooperate----torque IS a cheating movement to lift the weight--tension and torque are two different things----under tension gives to an iso movement---in effect you are flexing and squeezing the muscle and thereby it necessitates lower weights
@megaguitar01
@megaguitar01 10 жыл бұрын
I really can get into the physics and bio-mechanics if you want. Weight is unknown. Weight is the applied resistance on your body which your body translates into tension. Torque isn't a cheating movement torque is the force (tension) multiplied by the length. Cheating is actually putting your body in a greater bio-mechanical advantage actually shifting the tension to different muscles or lengthening the muscle which as an educated person would know a lengthened muscle is stronger but not torn down as much. Under tension is not an iso-metric movement it is how you direct the tension to emphasize the muscle. Because in truth everything in the axis will activate. I can continue but I think you get my point
@mensa517
@mensa517 10 жыл бұрын
megaguitar01 Typical of a psuedo scientist to leave out factors of the real meaning of muscle torgue---MUSCLE TORGUE IS--- The basic force comes from a group of muscles, which can be pushing or pulling. The axis in the equation is the joint that's controlled by the muscles. A third factor in the calculation is the length of the limb or muscle group involved, which determines the leverage used to apply the force. All of these factors come into play when calculating muscle torque. The basic math is complicated by the fact that some muscles push while others pull, and that human joints operate in three dimensions, rather than two.---THEREBY TORGUE IS THE ACTION USED TO GET THE MUSCLE TO WORK, MUCH LIKE IN A CAR DUH!!!
@mensa517
@mensa517 10 жыл бұрын
megaguitar01 FURTHERMORE----Muscle torque is calculated by the interaction of those three factors. The first is the actual force generated by the muscles themselves. Second is the length of the limb or muscle group applying the force, which determines how much leverage can be applied. This measurement is referred to in physiology and biomechanics as the "moment arm." The third factor is the angle formed by the moment arm and the joint, at the time the force is applied. Muscle torque, then, is the force applied by the muscles through a moment arm of a given length, at a given angle to the joint
