Everything I heard was a summed up psychotherapy with a healing life journey, and what makes this even more awesome is that I heard this from a fitness professional: whole health, whole people! Thank you for showing a person can achieve this, much like olympic competitions

The timing of this interview is just spot-on. Bikes and yoga for years. I started weight training in January and just this week, it really started to click. I practice the mind-muscle connection in the saddle and on the mat but was checking out in the gym. This week it all came together! It's amazing hearing his story and journey. Thank you!

What exactly is metabolic stress? From what I gathered from this podcast, is it basically reduce rest time between sets, do super sets? How does it apply to powerlifting? Do you stop lifting heavy weight and just do more drop sets?

Hi Mike, i recently came across your channel when I was looking for info on ketosis. I saw a lot of your videos by now and they are super informative. I love them. But this, this is probably the best video Ive ever seen on YT. The fitness - power/body building approach presented by Ben is the most individual and clever way a person can work out. The gratitude and humbleness found in this interview are totally awesome. Also a couple fantastic life advices. Thak You very much for doing it for us! The information provided in Your videos is making many people's lives better.

It's funny this came out the same week I went from a 4x8 of heavy weights with up to 2.5 minutes of rest between sets, to 6-8x12 of lighter weights with 1min max rest between sets... and it's killing me in a good way lol.
@jjjuhg
@jjjuhg 5 жыл бұрын
I did the same and i train each muscle only once a week , only 2 high intensity sets , while other 2 or 3 i consider them warm ups or a way to get to the heavy sets- i stop before i feel any burn, only warm- no need to exhaust the muscle with small, medium weights. After those 2 sets i stop thinking every time " i could do other 2 strong sets ", but i have to say no. Heavy duty - Mike Mentzer style. The idea is that those 2 sets i force 2 or 3 reps (waiting a few seconds and trying another rep...and so on) i grow incredibly fast and i m natural. Before i was training about 12 sets and did not grow much.

Wow. Now I know what I did wrong. I am always running on cortisol. I used to squat 20 sets 50 reps 350KG when I was in my 20's. I don't look like a body builder trying to put on size. Had the strength without the mass. Always heart thumping, more breaking down than building up. Resting 1 min or less between sets. All this information not available then from all those muscle mags. Very grateful for this. Hope maybe one day to come under coaching, better late than never.

Just going to say I love all of your videos, but this one is so insightful, and I agree with what Pheonix Rising said as well. Really, I think these are so useful! I know I'm a woman and my goal is be lean and small but have muscle, but i just love the way of thinking and promoting people to think about their exercises and do what works for them.Not everyone can do the same thing and get the expected result. Either way love it!
