Imagine you're a shy, introvert musician with a fanbase so devoted that they'll make an elaborated video essay on a song you haven't even released. Must feel kinda nice. Great video!

I've been a Ben Howard fan since 5-6 years now and I always felt that a good video essay about Ben Howard was missing. I always thought how can people not be aware of such good poetry and soundscapes. This video definitely fills a void on KZbin and you did a great job doing so. It's been an honour for me as well to provide the music for this video. Keep up the good work!

I remember the first time I saw this video I was completely blown away by how beautifully it was put together. Still to this day it is one of the most well crafted, peaceful and insightful things I've seen. It perfectly captures the the poetic nature of exploring a piece of music in depths far exceeding the expectations of the writer and finding within it something beautiful. The tone is also perfectly pitched throughout, a true masterpiece. Thank you for this

And... he found it... you know, a definitive way of the song, and it's called Rockery. You know, I saw this video two days after you published it, back in 2020. I've been on the first concert of the Noonday tour in Cologne in Germany. I was abled to listen to the new album on that day and when "untitled" came I was confused because it was unfamiliar and afterwards I thought "what an extremely great intro for "the defeat" was that". After the show I was abled to see the setlist an there was only "untitled".. and than I was aware that it probably won't be released. This song was absolutely great (and yes I especially love the contrast to "the defeat"). Thank you for your analysis ideo on this piece of art..

Mate, this is hands down one of the highest quality videos I have ever seen in youtube. The amount of knowledge, research, passion and dedication you evidently poor into the essay is outrageous and leads to a well spoken, interesting and nourishing video. The essay, as the song, is a masterpiece.

Great video. I saw Ben here in Chicago on the 2018 North American tour. He never finished his set list. He was clearly distressed, never got to this tune unfortunately, and he gave a farewell mid-song after playing for maybe 35-40 minutes. Always wondered what might have been up and hoped he was alright. I haven't been able to see him since. Wish him the best.

I like your consideration that there is a certain romance in playing the song every night, with a slight change each time, only for it to then be lost to that night. In a way, it's sad that it was ever recorded, even on a phone. I was at those performances, and I remember crying to just how beautiful an event it was. They were a highlight in my life and they came at the end of our honeymoon. Ben Howard was introduced to me through my wife a short couple of years earlier and we bonded very very deeply over his music. I remember one night, sitting on a dark beach with her, when suddenly there was a fireworks show from a house nearby. The music, colours, the smoke over the water, the peace and being with the one person I have felt at home with since we met. It was a moment which was fleeting, and the romance of it permeated my soul, I knew I'd spend the rest of my life happily with the person I was holding in my arms then, and I wept out of a serene joy that I'd never felt before. Time is dancing and we are only passing through, our life is limited only in its duration. It's important to take those moments and understand that, by fate or by the original design of the universe, a motion was started, and the result of it was that one moment and that moment was written for you alone sometimes. I felt that to share them, unfortunately, reduces their value a little, albeit a beautiful story.
