Love my Malay Parang!! Youes is super small, which is rare but very intelligent, be cause of the shape it already packs plenty of chopping power.

Your new Ben Orford looks awesome, the sheath is way cool. To have one would be amazing, but probably a little out of reach for myself, who knows maybe someday. I have no doubt worth every penny! Thanks for sharing!

Hey man, just letting you know bidor, a town in Malaysia makes incredible Parangs for not much. Under $10 locally 🫡 They are rat tail, which is excellent for the forward weight needed for chopping ! The tang is still long enough to be strudy (plus it's almost 2cm wide at the base) and the plastic is easy fixed with a campfire. That said, I've camped hundreds of nights with mine, still the original handle, no play, no sign of weakness. 🫡

Looks pretty cool🙂 I love AEBL. That kydex is really nice!I’m in love with my Skrama at the moment. I feel like my tools are pretty set now. I take the skrama, silky big boy, woodsman’s wedge( thanks for introducing me to that!), and my AEBL MK2 🎉 great video🙂

Nice one Rob, like the scout style carry does seem to hold it up out of the way.

There’s no substitute for a big chopper. I use the Lofty Wiseman B model, big enough to get most things done. I’m never going to be in one spot long enough to be felling trees or build a log cabin, so I never see the need to carry an axe. When I was off grid living on a barge I cleared no end of overgrown towpaths with it, as well as collecting and processing fire wood. It’s looking a bit beat up now, if I order another one I wouldn’t go for the black coating again.

Parang with distal taper will always perform better, though I understand that they're harder to do with stock removal.

👍Nice Rob. A bit on the light side for my liking, but that's me 😁😉. Love to see you design a big knife to compliment your fantastic bushcraft knives 😊.

Good film Rob as usual but then any film of yours when your out in the wild places is good. And again as usual a thorough and honest unbiased test of the tool there. Enjoyable as well, looked a very nice day in the Welsh woods 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿😊👍🏻

Great review Rob - a well considered tool for bushcraft in reliable steel...... personally (though I've never been to a jungle area), I'd always opt for stainless in such wet zones.

I've been but I wouldn't go out of my way to get stainless if I already had one in carbon, my shit condor parang didn't rust.
