I've had mine a few years now and as scout leader didn't want to large a blade when it was used around the Scouts, It did need a sharpen and I also wear it as neck knife. I love the bog oak handle for its history and resilience. It gets used ona regular basis and often by less caring hands and has never skipped a best 👌

Great in depth review Rob, I have the Curly Birch version with the matching ferro rod. I was having a practice in my garden using the TBS Ferro rod using the tip method with very little success. The TBS ferro rod works great with its own striker but I do find them quite soft. When I tried the Tip Method with Casstrom Ferro rod it worked a treat, I couldn't believe the difference. I did notice the tip on my Woodsman folded over less a mm. Not sure how this happened but I snapped it off and repointed it, good as new! I was very fortunate to receive an Omega Seamaster 300 Professional for 40th from my wife which I absolutely love. A fair bit thicker than Seamaster because of the Chrono but a beautiful watch which I will treasure. Keep up the great content, cheers Seamus

I have this knife and love it, the Bog Oak is so beautifully understated and durable. However if I could change one thing it would be 3mm stock not 4mm. I personally find 3mm much nicer for carving, skinning and food prep and anything heavier the axe comes out.

Great review - your usual high standard. Good knives, I've always liked their handle geometry. Sleipnir steel is named for the 8 legged horse that Odin rode.... I'm guessing it's a more modern take on D2? I am tempted I must say, personal preference I'd probably go for a slightly longer blade on the Lars Falt but they all seem good solid bushcraft knives. Rogers knife ticks all the boxes for a real World reliable woods blade, yes you'll probably want an axe and saw with you - but I don't know any bushcrafters who don't ALWAYS carry an axe and saw on trips 😉 that's the fun!

Wow you are literally the first reviewer thats spoken about the Garbergs weird design. Everyone talks about it being this amazing bushcraft knife but it's belly is horrible for detailed carving. Yes you can make it work but for me I want it to just work not force it to do so. I recently purchased the NKD forester 100 which has almost no reviews. I did so cause it was just the blank for $38 and boy is it a filthy blank ta-boot . It is even worse than the Garberg in my opinion . You basically cannot get the nose of the knife super fine by normal sharpening. The angle is made to be abused way too thick for detailed carving,. The straight portion works great but its basically a survival knife . The thing is , most users will not be able to maintain the belly to tip portion which will frustrate them into ruining the grind. You cannot sharpen the knife like a normal scandi and to be honest it feels defective . It's sold as a heavy duty stick chopper hunting knife . I'm guessing designed for skinning game so the belly glides over the bone. It looks like the Brisa Trapper but it is not the same knife at all. I purchased the Enzo Elver a few months ago and highly recommend that knife . Unfortunately Brisa is no longer going to produce them, so if ya can find one nab it up. Anyways sorry for the long comment, just shocked to hear the truth about the Garberg design for once.
