Great knife and its in orange!!!! ..... Roger is a great knife maker but I think you have him with your CPM 3V special. So I guess you are going to need a bigger stick (you should raffle that one off when you have all the notches it can take - I guess you have enough knives to use for the additional ones...lol 👍👍👍👍

Look's similar to the kamrat and lagom knifes that Ben Piersma and Jason Gustofson came up with,they were also students of the great Mors Kochanski. So similar to the andal and skookum is just being in that knife design that Mr Kochanski always liked. Bison Bushcraft makes some great things looks like a great little knife. You should make another few Bush tools with the orange G10 again one day just saying 😉. Nice feather sticks by the way. Great video man 👍

The 1948 Journeyman and this one, and Nieto Terrano scandi and Joker Trampero scandi is dream knifes for me. I do have used the Nieto Terrano a lot and it is great in balance and all. Maybe a bit thin in handle if used long time. It sure looks great. And the sheath may be the best on the market. And always great information! Thanks

I like the orange handle, it shows dirt easily and that is good to know if you use it to prepare food. The couple I have are easy to clean and look new after cleaning, Stainless steel is good idea too if you use your knife for food too.

Hi Rob ☺ nice looking knife mate, just love the curve of the blade, and the fine tip, great coloured handle because you wouldn't want to loose that one, I've tried to copy this thumb end ferro rod pushing, and ok it works sometimes for me, not often a one shot job though, bigger strokes for differant folks I guess,lol. Stuart Lockwood. Think the Thumb push method only works properly with the right ferro rod, and it needs to be new, it worked fine with my R.M. ferro rod at first but now its a bit older its not so clever. With some of my other makes of 'rod it doesnt work at all, they need the yahoo method as Rob puts it. Just my take on it!

@@howardvarley8795 Hi Howard, that's interesting info, thinking about it I had more success when the rod was new, now it is worn down whith a large tapering flat on it , the thumb technique is not as easy, but works great giving it the full Rob yahoo, lol. Just an observation on the ferrorod and short stroke method. It looked like you didn't have any fine curls below the stick surface on the sides and all the sparks hit the smooth stick or passed beyond the surface with very few, if any, curls down there. You could try to get the rod tip closer or even slightly into the curls. It looks like a fine knife!

I like an orange handle too, always used to have them on my gralloching knives. I've not used CM154, it's apparently an upgraded 440c - orange handled and very rust resistant is a good starting point for a hard use hunting knife in Scotland. I was looking at SAK hunters the other day, looking forward to your review.

Oo that's a cracker! Might have to have a look at that. I've got the knife bug atm, can't shift it! I keep buying the bloody things!! I wonder if I could have your opinion on this matter: Why don't a production knife company like condor or casstrom make a rip off of the Skookum?! If you want a bushtool, you almost certainly have to go down the custom route. It seems like a simple enough design for production companies to make.

There was one made by bark River and sold by the American knife company, it was awful! I have been thinking about contacting Casstrom about making my MK tribute knife, I did ask someone "In the know" to make an introduction but it never happened. I really don't see the fuss about the butt plate, I never use mine.

I wanted one in the beginning because I wanted one like Mors' knife😂 Now I just want a good, functional knife that has the features Mors liked. I think casstrom would be silly not to take you up on your offer. I really like them as a company. If they say no, what about contacting Brisa, they're pretty good too.

I didn’t see a big difference in the amount of spark thrown by both knives. Maybe the trouble is where you’re throwing the sparks. Most seemed to miss the feathers when using the tip method, and more seemed to hit the mass of feathers when you used the ‘Yahoo’ method.

Yes I probably do, I'm a very nostalgic person aswel so I love stuff from the "dawn of modern bushcraft" twenty something years ago when I discovered zero scandi grind knives and Gransfors Bruks axes!

Hi Rob, I also can struggle with tip scraping ferrorod lighting method and find the locking the knife and pulling the rod quicker. I feel it gives a more sustained spark. nice knife though I know your orderbook is quite full ,but what's the best way to chat to you about a knife as I'm loving both your Mors and Bush Tool knives?
