Ben & Rey || A Dyαd In The Force ☯ [AU]

Oops I slipped and made another 6 mins long edit of my otp! It's been a month since my last in depth one so that's ok right?
I felt like making a bit more of an AU because sometimes canon just isn't good enough (sometimes?haha) and this song was calling to me. Hopefully it's easy to understand in the vid, but I'm going to attempt a description just in case.
Basically, they both get a glimpse of their future together when they first connect. Kylo is quick to learn that they are a dyad, but Rey keeps fighting it until they touch hands and sees what could be.
But then Rey has a vision in which she sees that if she joins Ben/Kylo, it will bring upon his death. That's why when the moment comes she doesn't take his hand even though it breaks her heart and his, she does it to save him.
Ben chases after Rey to demand answers and after Rey heals him, he sees that despite everything she does care for him. So he turns and comes for her to stand by her side.
Rey dies, but Ben still holds on to his last bit of consciousness, stuck in between worlds and his father comes to him through the force (Kylo isn't the one who killed him in this universe) and he gives him the strength to stay alive and bring Rey back to life. They then kill Palpatine together, fight the guards and knights of ren and then make out. The end :).

Watching this for maybe the 15th time... Beautiful execution and I love how you reversed the kiss scene at the end. Ben Solo deserved so much better. He is the Skywalker from the movie's title. Plus the way you edited the last fights scene suggests that they ACTUALLY defeat Palpatine TOGETHER and this is what should have happened !! I kind of like the sequels but I can't watch them without listing internally everything that's wrong. And it is a very, very long list. Thank you for fixing so much of it.

I'm literally crying and in my whole life I cried over a video edit only once. This is so beautiful, and so powerful, you put an order to everything and you did it perfectly. I just have to thank you because you made me think about Ben and how he suffered trough his whole life, until the end. If he hadn't made that last sacrifice, everything would have crumbled down on him, the last person that loved him would have died in vain. Great job, Val!! Loved the music, it was good enough to put in the film, had Rey had a flashback scene to all the times she had with Ben-Kylo. They should have been even more connected in the first film, the writers wasted too much time on time on non-important scenes. The whole casino escapade should never have been allowed! I see now that "The Force Awakens" should have focused on Rey's awareness of the Force....it is called "Awakens" for a reason. She also needed to be with Luke, Han, AND Ben - Kylo WAY MORE in the first film!

Aaaaaahhhh this video is so epic!!! I can't even verbalize how moving it is that you made us see their visions of each other and their future!!! That is a really special thing, and not many people have explored that in videos. You always find new ways to tell their story! And usually you fix the end of it too, which I love! This video is a better version of TROS. It's like you kept in the parts that were already good and then majorly improved on it!! I love the way you start out with both of them sensing the awakening in the force, which is the awakening in their force bond! And I loved the "You...a scavenger" and "You're a monster" because it's like they realized they have this connection, and at first are pissed off at who they are connected to, but then that quickly changes. You developed this video so well to show the way they build an understanding and gradually start challenging and inspiring each other! And just all the amazing parallels and examples of oneness!! God this video just flows so well! I love the way these two move when they are fighting, with each other or against each other. The choreography is great, and you can tell Adam and Daisy trained hard. I love the fight sequences starting at 2:04! Again it flows so well! And this music is so pretty and haunting!! I freaking love their faces when they touch hands! And it is even more powerful in your video, because you give us a glimpse of what they see! When the tear falls from Rey's eye after she envisions Ben turning...MY HEART!! That really got me! And then her seeing a future where Ben dies! Nooo!! OMG I felt so much pain for her there, and I could really see Rey being like "That is NOT how this is going to go down." She would not let the universe take her soul mate after everything she already lost! Nope. And oh yay I'm glad you had the chance to use the "His compassion for you will be his undoing" line from ROTJ! It's all connected! Anakin tells Padme that compassion is unconditional love, Palpatine tells Anakin/Vader that Luke's compassion for him would be his undoing, Snoke tells Ben that he has compassion for Rey, Palpatine tells Ben and Rey their coming together will be their undoing. So to anyone that doesn't understand that the real themes of Star Wars are compassion, redemption, and love, not just "fighting fascists", which is just the surface of it, I bid them to pay close attention to the above! And of course to watch your videos! hehe Gah the way the music gets soft for the "I did want to take your hand" segment. /cries/ so sweet!! For some reason the way you did this had me extra emotional when she heals him and her tears are mixing with the rain like that. This whole video is so moving and soft!! I love that you used the "You underestimate Ben Solo and me. It will be your downfall" line! Because while Rey says that to Snoke, I think it is the perfect answer to Palpatine, who doesn't understand that their compassion and connection is so much stronger than anything he could conjure up. Again, the true message of Star Wars! I just about died when I got to the "I'd never felt so alone" "You're not alone" part!!! Aaaaawww!!!! Especially because in that scene Palpatine is literally mocking Rey about being alone and not having any family there for her...but just the way Ben runs to her and the looks on their faces when she sees him through the bond 100% Ben Solo and there for her and the music swells. MY HEART CANNOT HANDLE THIS!! And then you made Ben's Han vision happen after Palpatine attacks them....and Ben waking up and healing Rey!!! I swear this is so amazing!! I never would have thought of putting his vision of Han there!!! And then yay they kill Palpatine together. I was scared that Rey's vision of him dying would still happen, so I was glad that it ended with them kissing after defeating the emperor! THIS IS SUCH A BETTER ENDING! We get all the good elements of TROS, but things make more sense!! I love it so much!!! Your videos give me life! Thank you for making this!!! ILY!!!

And you really understood exactly what I was trying to portray too! :D Love/compassion and redemption are definitely the themes of SW, not just fighting in space hahah, I like how they explore what it means to be human and the inner conflict with good and evil that we can all relate to in some way. I imagined the "I'd never felt so alone" part like Rey is thinking it in that moment and Ben shows up and says "you're not alone" through the bond and her saying "neither are you" because they're in this together! I just truly love that look they share then as well cause it speaks SO LOUDLY and that's exactly what its saying! I'm glad you like that vision of Han there! Wow, a lot of thought into this AU, I can see the story you came up with very clearly. I love how you didn't use any of the younger her scenes and the parentage any of that and only focused on the two of them. The way you transitioned through the videos was very moving too, like seeing glimpses into the future then returning to the present, and ever moving forward until we reach the end of the journey. I love the cut of "I saw you'll turn" "You'll turn" showing the contrast in the two visions and how it shapes their motives in the AU. My only confusion here though is, when is the moment he turns? Because there isn't a defining moment. In this, did he turn after seeing the future? Because at first it looks like he was going to use to pull her to the dark side, but then doesn't.. Other than that, I get the story perfectly.

Thank you so much! I love how you really got what I was trying to do :) The way I saw it, he was always conflicted, but he turns after she heals him and leaves to defeat Palpatine alone. He thought that she didn't want to be with him after she rejected his proposal, but he can see and feel her love for him through the bond after she heals him and that's really all that matters to him in the end. He realizes that she loves him and she needs him and so he doesn't hesitate to stand by her side to defeat Palpatine and give in to the light as long as they're together. I could make like a whole separate video just on that tbh haha, there's so much more i would wanna add!

Comic book . Kylo Ren comic book showed Ben and Rey felt eachother as kids/ teenagers.

I know because it's Disney it had to be 'good girl changes misunderstood bad guy back into good guy' but I think it would have been an epic twist to have Rey turn just as Kylo turned and have him giving up his life to save her turn into a Shmi type of pregnancy storyline. I mean, Anakin apparently came out of nowhere (I know the rumors of him being Palpatine's or Plageuis' creation but I prefer the will of the Force personally) so why can't it be that Kylo 'impregnated' Rey when he used his life force to save her, thus she would have part of him and the dyad would still hold true when she gives birth to the baby and names him (what else) Anakin (tying in with the whole The Rise of Skywalker theme). It could be a whole series of movies where this Anakin struggles with his mother turning out of anger at her loss of Kylo, shoring up her power as Empress of the Empire, all the while raising him as her heir. It could be interesting to see a new generation dabbling in both sides of the Force rather than extremes of either or, plus I would love to see a new romance between Anakin and Obi-Wan's heretofore unknown granddaughter. I mean, come on, Obi-Wan never struck me as that innocent lol so there's room to move in that direction (I mean, who knew Palpatine got freaky lol).
