ben & rey || you're haunted.

I've had this sort of reylo revival... haha! It is 'missing them' hours :'((
I've also been going through some not-good stuff recently, and my headspace has been all over the place this past week, so to find some escape, I worked on this edit. I hope my sporadic mindsets haven't tainted the edit in any way, bleeding through to the point that it is noticeable... although I do feel like it has as I experienced difficulty making the edit blend together seamlessly.
I tried to do something different or create a different feel from my past reylo edits. I wanted the voiceovers to kind of harmonize and overlap, to have dialogue from different conversations in time thread together to create a new conversation... if that makes any sense at all lol.
It's also heartbreaking that they are both so lonely and have finally found someone who truly understands them. It's heartbreaking when Ben reassures that Rey isn't alone, and yet he dies, thus leaving her alone. So, so tragic.
I have also been rereading one of my favorite Reylo fanfics. It is so well done, from the writing to the characterization, that I honestly consider it to be an alternate version of the story, like a stand-alone. If any of you are unhappy with how Reylo turned out, I highly suggest reading the fanfic. It's called "A Collision of Stars," by dustoftheancients.

The true question should be: is it ever *not* 'missing them' hours? 😭 but seriously, the way your videos manage to be so original and mesmerizing every time needs to be studied. I always discover new parallels watching your edits after all this time, it feels like magic (like 0:20-0:21)! This is so enchanting and I loved your theme of overlapping echoes in this -- it fits the way they create ripples in each other's lives all along in their story so well, and the way you managed to achieve that effect through what you did with song, dialogue and shot choices is simply masterful 💖. Oh my babies! I miss them, they were so perfect together, every part of them completed the other. Both alone and afraid, fighting to walk the path they think they have to walk, filled equally with light and dark. I just keep telling myself he’s in the World Between Worlds, which is now cannon (yes!) and she will find him. I will die on that hill. Probably watching one of your videos when it happens.
