Im with you, I saw Karatsev breakout in 2021 with the most astonishing putaway shots other people would rally, and he started to bring it back here... but Shleton is beefed and perhaps juiced up for this year.

@gibbleway Aslan made too many errors. It wasn't his best tennis. He also is stoic like Sampras was. Doesn't win the crowd.

@@Sebs3bs3b the way he came back in the second set showed huge mental toughness and clarity... he got back to his old striking ways of recent past but idk what happened after Shelton just kept playing harder and harder and though he shows his own errors, his push proved to be more decisive vs Aslan's on-composure because when Aslan is on, he can stun almost anybody but its not all the time....there's another player, Basilashvili who also could be either very on, or just not winning

Karatsev is a classy guy - respectful, calm, quiet, cool, and does not cheer his opponent’s mistakes……

Some do it internally and some do it externally, but everyone cheers their opponent’s mistakes unless they don’t want to win, lol. The more mistakes you can get your opponent to make the better your chances of winning.

Aslan's cool most of the time. I've seen him lose it. Check out the Tokyo finals 2023 between Ben Shelton and Aslan Karatsev. He pulverized his racket in the second set.
