The take on Brown in the video is 100% correct. I was lucky enough to be coached by Brown when he was in Australia. He is by far the best motivational coach I have seen in my 40 years of being around the game. His expectation was for us to realize our full potential, however unrealistic it seemed at the time, in a way that made the steps trivial. Just being around him made you fee like you could jump over the stadium. If Brown couldnt get Ben to click then sadly I doubt no one can.

Great Vid, On Point!!! As a Sixers fan, nothing was more infuriating over the last 5 years than watching countless social media videos of Ben knocking down jumpshots in pick-up games all summer, then the regular season comes along and he's scared to death of taking one in a game. I really thought at one point he was going to turn into the next Lebron, but he just refuses to shoot for whatever reason. That point in the video where JJ compliments him on being able to open up 3pt opportunities is just sad starting with Ben's self-satisfied grin. He opened up so many 3pt chances because he would literally drive to the paint and then just do a spinning jump-stop looking for teammates on the perimeter. After awhile teams figured out he wasn't shooting and stopped collapsing and going to a zone. KD is going to get into it with him sooner or later

👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽Bravo! Exactly what I've been saying for almost a year and a half. His first season, he played 81 games and _attempted_ 218 shots between 10 feet from the basket and the 3-point line, or what we would commonly refer to as "midrange". His FOURTH season and last season in uniform in Philly, he played 58 games and _attempted_ 44 shots from the same distance. Not _made._ Just the attempt! That's averaging less than one midrange shot attempt per game. That's like starting the season in mid-October, and not taking a midrange shot until _AFTER_ Thanksgiving. It's not "can't shoot"...it's not "don't shoot." WON'T. SHOOT. Forget the three...shoot a midrange or two. Every time his team has the ball, it's four-on-five, because you know he's not going to shoot unless he's under the basket. We didn't see how bad Joel Embiid had it until Simpletons was gone and Embiid could have the paint whenever he wanted it. Doc was right. Joel was right. Everybody gave Simpletons all the time in the world, and he just gave the finger in return. I don't want to hear another negative word about Russell Westbrook from ANYBODY, and I _live_ in Los Angeles! The Lakers have damaged Russ, but Ben destroyed himself.

@NeilTruick
@NeilTruick Жыл бұрын
@@erroneouse1929 Destroyed himself how exactly? He got traded from OKC, where he was a triple-double machine (because he had to be). He went to Houston to pair with ball-dominant, iso-ball Harden, which didn't work. He then to DC with Bradley Beal. The two of them together could have done great things, if the Wizards management wanted to be successful. Then, he's in L.A. When a player is basically told to keep doing what he's doing without any direction, but with all the drive and desire in the world, you're going to get a Westbrook situation. He comes to L.A., where he's the third option with a coach who has completely over his head, on top of being micromanaged by the Lakers front office. Vogel had no plan for Westbrook other than "go out there and do what you do." That's not coaching, especially with a player like LeBron, who spends most of his time doing the coach's job for him. Personally, I would like to see Westbrook go back to OKC if they can't figure it out here. The best Westbrook is an appreciated Westbrook, and he's never been appreciated here since he arrived, which is sad.

I mean this dude is soft as puppy poop. Even if you try your best to pick up the pieces for him it falls apart 😂😂😂. Soft AF. I ain’t about to feel bad for Simmons. He deserves all this criticism and more. He’s one of the laziest players with his type of potential I’ve ever seen. Until he shows that he’s matured and willing to commit so that he proves he’s worth that fatass contract I got no pity for him. He’s rich and ain’t earning it, he can afford to put up with getting shit on relentlessly

He's been told all his life he's great, and the reality is that he isn't, he's not a great player at all. He's not capable of growth and working at his flaws which would require him to face and work through things he is frightened of. Dude should be in the G league he's an absolute liability and fundamentally has a weak character.

Brooklyn receives: Ben Simmons Seth Curry Andre Drummond 2022 first-round pick (unprotected) 2027 first-round pick (protected) Philadelphia receives: James Harden Paul Millsap

Im keep it a buck alot of people do focus on him shooting 3 way too much. The problem with Ben is his aggressiveness to make his own shot. He does need to develop but he can start with more driving techniques or a mid range, it doesn't just have to be shoot a three

The thing with Ben is he mentally checks out once he hits adversity once he can't get to the basket how he wants all his other abilities become lackluster.His passing,defense,attention to detail all becomes shit.Plus in this era of basketball you cannot claim to be a primary ball handler and not have any type of scoring range or lack of offensive aggression there's no excuse for it

It's hard to believe he's in his 7th year in the NBA. Yes ge was basically injured for 3 or 4 of them bit honestly. It's fucked. Totally fucked that the guy has had all the opportunity in the world and hasn't done anything with it. Is a decent defender...yes. is he a great passer (idk about playmaker) yes. But let's look at a comparable player who's been given everything his whole life...lamelo ball. The dude has been in the spotlight since he was 12, but obviously his dad pushed him and didn't accept excuses. Ben Simmons in contrast was typically the biggest or best player so coaches gave him a long leash. It's clear nobody pushed him because he was probably the best anyway. There isn't much he can do around injuries (nobody should get surgery unless they need it so I believe that's real) and mental illness is a real barrier (assuming Ben wasn't faking it which would be fucked up). But the core question is...in the years when Ben was healthy and the criticism has always been the same (can't/won't shoot, hard work, etc)...why hasn't he improved...literally at all. It's clear he doesn't want to. He's gonna be in the league until he's 32 because there will always be shitty teams that want him and willing to pay him 20 to 30 million. Then he's gonna bank out and retire basically at 32 and just become a coach or a shitty espn a analyst. It's clear he's gonna be one of those players who basically gonna be bankrupt by 50. He's had an incredibly easy life and it's a shame it's given to a person who doesn't realize how absolutely privileged and lucky he is
