I heard a song on the radio years ago.I heard the unmistakable voice and unique guitar and thought,ooh my favorite singer,James Taylor! But as I listened longer,it was like James Taylor but not quite exactly...........When it was over,the disc jockey said it was his son Ben.Aahh (sorta similar the first time I heard his brother Livingston on the radio)☺️

I met Ben about 25 yrs ago in a BJJ class in NJ. He was very guarded about who he was, but once everyone knew who he was, it was pretty much ignored and he was like any other student there. Think that's all he wanted.

I was at Chez Penise in Berkeley one night with my hosts and my parents. And across the room only 12 feet away sat Robin Williams, James Taylor, and you. Laughter and good times is all I witnessed and my parents kept commenting on how much you look like your parents. What a gift to have that kind of creative relationship with your mother and your songwriting. The music your parents made was the soundtrack that played in our home as I grew up.

What I have heard James Taylor say about himself is that a lot of things worked out for him. Because he suffered so badly from depression, he wrote songs that would make you feel better. It worked in bringing him huge success. Having people like Carol King as great friends helped, too. He is one of my very favorite artists.

I heard a live broadcast of Ben's recent performance in Nashville, and I was impressed at his ability as a storyteller...he has a speaking voice that is mesmerizing, but he is also very eloquent in his delivery of a story. He seems mature beyong his years.

As a child in the 60's and teen/adult in the 70's,I fell in love with BOTH your parents music. Your dad, seemed more available than your mom, and their styles of presentation were very different. This poor fellow was born with no real choices of his own genetically. His parents are legends of poetry and sound. And they are two of the most beautiful beings on earth. Ben Taylor is a living image of what made his parents extraordinary. What a good looking man. How very nice to be genetically gifted. All three are very easy on the eyes.

Both his parents are great songwriters. JT's songs esp has withstood time very well. In fact, they're timeless; sounds as relevant today as 40-50 yrs ago. "If I Keep My Heart Out of Sight" is my fave! Ben is a very grounded individual, knows people will forever compare him to his parents and seems accepting of that. I haven't heard him sing, but I'm sure he'll go down his own road . Much success in your travels !

A serious young man. Like all offspring he is a bit like both parents(surprise). Since none of us know his parents intimately, the speculation could go on endlessly about which qualities are prominent. Why diss whether he has found success or not? Silliness. He does not need that as validation of who he is as a man. Ultimately Ben is his his own person and will find his way in life as we all must.

When I heard him singing "I Will", I didn't recognize any difference in his voice and his dad's. Even after James is gone, Ben will carry on his legacy.
