I think the Eurostar is the aircraft for me, most enjoyable. Thanks you.

Ah cheers mate - means a lot coming from you. The eurostar is brilliant; surprisingly tight in the cockpit compared to the c42 i thought...width ways! Thanks for watching

Thanks for watching Matt! Its a lovely plane to fly too..and the viz is great but you do have a wing below obscuring those picturesque ground views....a bit!

My first trial lesson was in an EV97. I liked it but found it a little snug. I kept banging the side of the canopy too with my headset. The other thing that put me off was my instructor wore crocs!
@BenAtkinsonVideos4 жыл бұрын
Certainly is a little snug. Wouldn't wanna have to broad shouldered lads in there thats for sure. Hahaha - enough to put anyone off....Thanks for watching

I presume the Eurostar is much quieter inside the cabin? The voice on this video is so much better. Good job Ben, must be the power of the Bose showing through!

Thanks for watching and noticing the comms quality. Its not much much quieter than the C42...but certainly a good bit quieter than the skyranger.

Ben have you a hot line to heaven for good weather? Or do you sleep in the hanger just in case? LOL! The intro music is almost Pearl & Dean - during the interval I went for an ice cream and I'm off for a curry at the restaurant advertised in the interval! In the stall all of those 3 Axis microlights really don't want to stall (from what I can see) - bit of left wing drop - BUT all the while they're going from 500 fpm to 1000 fpm, wallowing ever downwards (almost never leaves the incipient phase) and, of course no stall warning buzzer either. I think you're right, unless training, that first feeling of buffet and it's a SR job.
@BenAtkinsonVideos4 жыл бұрын
haha! I wish I did...ANY window and I consider flying but its been some weeks now I must say. Re stalling yeh - certainly in those conditions with 2 people on board, even then it just didn't wanna go. AS David says - technically it did stall when the stick was on the stop at the back...but other than that - watch for that nose high and yep - SR when you notice that buffet...or any of the symptoms! Thanks for watching
@musoseven82184 жыл бұрын
Ben Atkinson Thanks - always a pleasure. Your instructor was right, extreme position of controls (on the stops) plus indicated 'symptoms' mean a stall. But watching it, the plane seemed to be acting a like a sycamore leaf. May I ask, does that mean, with all your differences training, you'll have to do more flying to stay current on all three aircraft?
@flyingkub4 жыл бұрын
How did you find it having to control the aircraft with the other hand (some find it strange), you looked like it didn't bother you?
@BenAtkinsonVideos4 жыл бұрын
Well, I'm actually left handed so it was quite natural for me...imagine others don't find it quite as easy but it wasn't a major problem at all! Thanks for watching !
@flyingkub4 жыл бұрын
@@BenAtkinsonVideos I have heard people say they struggled but I can do most things with either hand just thought might be a bit like riding old British motor bikes like BSA and then jumping on a Honda (with the foot brake and gear change on different sides). Takes a couple of mins of consentration to make sure you do the right thing but becoming natural with a short time.
@ThisIsABargain4 жыл бұрын
Interesting when you are performing lookouts. My instructor on the C42 always told me that when turning to the right, you first look left then straight, then right...not just looking right. Your instructor doesn't seem to tell you this. Not saying one method is right or wrong, just an observation. Great videos btw.
@musoseven82184 жыл бұрын
Sherwood Ranger There's a bit of debate over which is right or wrong according to a buddy of mine. IMHO, if you look in the direction you want to go - plus any wing tipping if in a high wing - then the opposite direction and back again you kind of get two bites of the cherry.
@BenAtkinsonVideos4 жыл бұрын
Yeh I've seen both methods...and will look to the opposite direction when making larger turns and remember editing a lot of bits out so you don't always see - but you're quite right! Thanks very much - thats very kind - its awesome to have you along...

Great video , tend to fly our school Eurostar as opposed the C42 when I do my 2 yearly review , prefer the C42 to be honest , the Eurostar seems heavy on the controls in the flap/stall configuration and the throttle/stick I found confusing as totally opposite positions to the C42 !! I find the Eurostar very sensitive and twitchy , each to their own .......fun to fly but prefer the C42 like wearing comfy slippers. Getting on the wing to get in is worst for me being vertically challenged 😁
@BenAtkinsonVideos4 жыл бұрын
Ha its a good point - when comparing aircraft the entry to the eurostar really isn't easy. Agreed C42 is more docile but as mentioned in a previous episode, it feels slower but certainly a solid aircraft. Thanks for watching
