Thanks so much for addressing this issue. I’ve found the same problem when cutting smaller pieces. Really helpful, thanks.

Thanks for the comment Andy, Benchdogs.co.uk make a small fence add on for underneath the rail. benchdogs.co.uk/collections/fence-systems/products/under-rail-support-fence-kit?variant=32173902692455

Very informative video. Which is the second sized fence you purchased? (Trying to figure out which ones to purchase). Also, could this have been done with just using bench dogs instead? Thanks so much.

It’s one of the section of there mobile rails. If you email Ralph he might sell you just one section of rail. Yes you could use dogs and a piece of wood as the rail. Using the Benchdogs mobile fence just makes it easier. Phil

Can a cordless Makita Tracksaw clear the fence when passing? The bottom battery was hitting my old Incra fence

I have never had an issue with the fence but I have to use a smaller dog at the start of the rail as the battery doesn’t clear a large dog

@@PhilipHollowaychannel I use the smaller dogs at the start also. I'm currently using the UJK fence but this looks nice with the scale on the measurements on the fence and the stops, also quick disassembly. My only concern was the clearance. Thanks for "clearing" that up.

Yes I have the UJK fence as well. The bits I don’t like on the UJK is, no scale, to short (it should have been another 200mm longer) and I lost the stop within the first week as it doesn’t permanently stay on the fence. I like the colour though :)

Same with me, never notised an issue. Maybe because the saw does not need to pass the fence with the back of the saw. But it's an interesting point. Could be that the saw is raised up on the work piece and track in relation to the 40 mm fence.

The biggest problem I have is my tracksaw depth adjustment is off so I end up scoring my beautiful mft top 😩

I have put two marks on the height markings, one for 12mm and one for 18mm ply

What offset are you using for the dogs that your rail butts up to?
@PhilipHollowaychannel4 жыл бұрын
48mm, so this is half the normal hole spacing.

my bench dog rail came with a 10x200mm aprox peice that fits under the track.onto the rail. speak to Ralph at benchdogs before buying more rail.

Yes the version 2 has this rail built in and you can buy the add on to fit under the track for the version 1. With having the small rail on the right a haven’t need to buy one of these yet.

Just notch the long one so it fits under the rail, and it's one piece, so no chance of it being inaccurate

Looks good. I bet it’s a lot cheaper than festool mft

Ya I was thinking of buying two mft’s but I’m glad I built this instead. As I made a smaller table to take out on site.
