Nice knife waiting for mine to arrive! Will be nice to see a list of your fav to least fav Benchmad. Keep the content coming , very informative!

Had some really good laughs during this one (the bloopers were great also). I didn’t know that once the knife breaks in, you no longer need to oil the brass washers. Thanks for sharing the knowledge

@@alexaliwarlock 😝 my methods are totally optional! Some folks just have to have the oil, but I think it’s only attracting dirt!
@alexaliwarlock4 ай бұрын
@@CuttingBoardRx that’s going to be a game changer for me 🙌. The amount of lint that usually gets caught in my washers due to the oil is insane and constantly requiring maintenance.

I cant seem to get mine apart well the pivot out i have taken apart a bunch of benchmades but man this one won't budge

@@kevinfitz3721 Sounds like someone at BM went overboard with the loktite. Heating up the pivot with a soldering iron may work.

Great video, love the bloopers, and very informative! I have a great video idea for you, corrosion test for Damascus steel and more particularly damasteel. All Damascus is not made the same at all and would love to see corrosion patterns on them. Haven’t seen anyone do that test you would probably be the first!

@@kush662 great idea, I was looking for something to accompany the teravantium knife into the Dehyporator! What can be better than a Benchmade Gold class?
@kush6624 ай бұрын
@@CuttingBoardRx Amazing choice of knife! I am super excited to see the Damascus test! Another idea I have is to start a new series “kitchen knives test” where you test all parameters like corrosion and hardness and toughness of common kitchen knives like Henckels, zwilling, wustoff, and obviously American brands like cutco, lamson, bob Kramer and then also budget knives like victorinox and Dexter Russell and then new trend of online only retailers like misen and made in. This will bring you in the huge crowd of people who generally only use kitchen knives and don’t carry pocket knives. I wish you can bridge pocket knife industry advancements onto kitchen knives and bring change to a very dormant knife industry. It would be very interesting to see.

Do you like the new 710?
@CuttingBoardRx4 ай бұрын
@@derekwedge09 Yes, it sharpened really well and is holding the edge very well. Also, the action is much smoother with the new style omega springs than the original 710 from 13 years back.

That was fun! your knives are lucky, indeed, to have such good care. I love the handle of the 710, and also that Medford you showed in prior video. They remind me of art deco style. Glad you cleared that up about liberal application to BOTH sides, not just the left.

@@johnhughes905 I don’t think my knives consider themselves lucky because I tree-stab and spine whack them… just the other day I caught Microtech MSI texting @Metal_complex asking for a rescue! “Pls hlp” she said, “I wanna hide in yr pelican case and never be really tested!”

Magnacut at 65rc isn't gonna hold an edge as long as s90v at 60. The composition just isn't close to as capable.
@EDCandLace4 ай бұрын
This is assuming same geometry, magnacut at 12dps and s90v at 20dps and yeah the MC would out cut it in that case if it was even at 62-63. With equal geometry magnacut just isn't compositionally capable of cutting with s90v.
