Love love love my Bailouts with serrated edge. So light weight, thin, and M4 is just remarkable for edge retention and sharpness. It’s an EDC that you use and not worry about unlike all of the safe queens out there.

I have the more affordable version of the bailout. Grivory handle and 3V blade. Also have a Bugout. Both are pretty much equal to me.

Wake me up when there is a satin non-tanto Magnacut Bailout. For this price, nice colors do not cut it. Even though CPM M4 is great.

I have Bugout with carbon fiber and would never change it for Bailout. Looks nice, cuts nice, light and not too big or small. No tanto and no blade coating is a big plus for me. And CF fixed biggest flaw, handle from ugly flexing plastic.

I'm failing to see any advantage in the tanto blade. Maybe I'm missing something but tanto is more for weapons than tools.

The advantage comes with the tango serrated model. It’s three blade in one knife. Tango design allows you to use the the knife to scrape. Just like you would use a razor blade to scrape a sticker or paint off a window. Serrated is really nice for rope, plastic straps or cording. Regular section of the blade is the slicer. Three blades in one design. That’s anime meant to be used for any and everything and it does it well but master at none. I love mine…

@@Seaward1224 I have a gerber 06 fast that's been sitting in the car for years. Had it since I was a kid. Mostly only use the tip when I can fit it in something, the serration is pretty beat up because I haven't figured out how to sharpen serrations. It would still be reasonably good at poking at least but I'd still probably do that with something else if I could. I don't know. I'm a fan of cold steel and their knives but Lynn Thompson's tanto redesign never felt best for me for practical use. 4-max elite on the other hand is big and still very utilitarian, I carry that almost every day.

Not an attractive price for what your getting. Thin stock and small knives. There are so many more options better priced. Anything from civivi or Spyderco

Here is why I think $270 isn't as bad as people make it out to be: - Cerakote M4 blade - Axis lock (a more technical implementation of a lock compared to compression/back lock/liner lock) - Milled, slightly contoured 6061-t6 aluminum. - Great fit and finish, meaning very consistent coatings, even edges, good action (for the most part and better than Civivi) - Genuine hard carbide glass breaker. - Made in USA (only applies to Americans who want to support their fellow countrymen) - And most of all, inarguably one of the best warranties that will mean this $270 knife will last you the rest of your life. I would still of course would want the price to be less and believe it should be, but I don't think it is as bad as people make it out to be. Another note, Benchmade has to make their prices higher because they cannot rely on the high profit margins of foreign made knives like Spyderco or Kershaw does.
