I have it and it’s awesome!! You can pause while you’re recording and the recording continues where you paused when you re-start recording. Picture and video quality is absolutely fantastic and the pure video mode for night video recording is amazing!!

@@mattbugr4283 only if you zoomed in a lot. Reframed videos are usually wide angle and use 1/3 to 1/2 of the FOV. So it would be halfway between 2K and 4K.

pocket 3 is great for vlogging, this is great for action. would not reccomend pocket 3 for action since the gimbal is fragile (if you fall off a bike it could snap the gimbal on the pocket 3, but this would power through)

Bit rate is more important than resolution sometimes. You can have 1080p look better than 8k if the bit rate on the 8k is low. Color reproduction, dynamic range, sharpness etc play a huge role. I'd bet this 8k is lousy.

24fps for for action looks horrible, even 30fps is pretty bad still. (Speaking from road bike and dirt bike riding with the Sony action cam with the physical image stabilisation, rather than digital.... Which still looks 200% better than any digital stabilisation I've seen)

What about the fact you can’t replace the lens cover? GoPro made that major mistake with the GoPro 8 and it’s such a basic necessity for an action camera - so much going for it for them to then make such a daft error

Yeah- although Insta360 have offered to replace the lens themselves if it breaks within the first 12 months. Pretty sure gopro don’t do that.

8K is so overkill. Vast majority of people watch YT/FB video on a moderate phone. Not even 4K. More like 1440p-ish. I think bitrate, light-gathering, and other features are far more important than res.

After the horrible experience i had with my Insta360 (the first model, forgot the name) i would never buy Insta360 ever again. Shutdowns, overheating, failing to record, horrible UX (app is great, but on camera is horrible) Bluetooth and Wi-Fi disconnects so can't rely on the app, all and all I could not trust this camera, not even once! Wasn't reliable when I took it for shooting days, and it always disappointed me, ALWAYS! Even if the newer cameras are better, I would not even try. can't trust them. Horrible company!
