I remember that getting the Skaal villagers quests to tigger was indeed a pain. Btw, did you know that the scholar Tharstan managed to woo and Marry the Skaal leader Fanari in the year he's been there? (At least the game's engine has their relationship set as married.) His quest has a prerequisite - finishing the quest for Deor. Both Deor's and Nikulas' quests SHOULD trigger the next time you visit the village after Fate of the Skaal has been finished (which you've finished when Storn send you to Neloth.)

The Stalhrim Source is actually not too far NW of the Temple but it's further than that. 😅 You'll come to Mount Moesring and Moesring Pass first and as you continue NW you'll come up to White Ridge Barrow. From there Stalhrim Source is real close but on a lower ground level so from White Ridge barrow you go directly west on the ice...rock thingy that leads down to the lower ground level and then just follow the northern path to the Stalhrim Source...path leads right to it and it's a sunken nordic circle anyways so can't miss it. 😅 Don't take the southern path, it leads to Bristleback Cave (unless you wanna go there afterwards). Oh, and you can easily get maximum 85% defense with smithing and enchanted gear even with the Light Stalhrim Armor (ditto with Glass and Dragonscale really, and there's a Light Armor perk that gives you a 10% chance to negate all damage from a physical attack so if you already invested perks in Light Armor I wouldn't recommend swapping. 😁

3:15 I'm worried about Tarstan's hand. It really freaks me out. No, the voices of Storn Crag-Strider and Arngeir belong to different voice actors: George Coe was the voice actor for Storn and Christopher Plummer voiced Arngeir.

I think you need to leave the Skaal village (maybe for a specific minimum amount of time) and then come back to get some of those Skaal quests triggered. Then after you finish the Stalhrim quest, Tharstan will come to you and give you his quest.

I'm slightly worried it's bugged, that I didn't treat the villagers "right" on my first time there (en.uesp.net/wiki/Skyrim:A_New_Source_of_Stalhrim#Bugs)

@@VoicesFromTheDark Yeah on one of my playthroughs that conversation between Deor and Fanari didn't happen at all. It's a very buggy one and it also affects the one from Tharstan, about Valok the jailor. Feel free to use console commands, I am pretty sure that the viewers will be cool about that.

At this point I'm pretty much convinced that Mimir has shout aphasia (confuses words), or perhaps it is shout incontinence? 🤔 He should seek the assistance of the local alchemist since those healing spells ain't doing the job. 😂
