Your description of this particular type of hangover is bringing back vivid memories of my first and second semester of college. I didn’t have a car so I couldn’t go to the deli to find my future hangover cure. But I couldn’t get out of bed until like 4 PM and then we just crawl over to the student cafeteria or we would order Chinese food and I would get vegetable egg foo yong and my roommate would make fun of me because they had no fucking culture in their lives and all they knew about Chinese food was wonton soup and egg rolls. I am from Brooklyn and my parents are from Brooklyn and we used go to Chinatown all the time so I had authentic Chinese food (at least in New York). Anyway vegetable egg foo yong or vegetable lo mein are excellent hangover cures… if you don’t have a car and you can’t go to the deli. However the best hangover cures when I got a car and I could go to the deli were either tomato egg and cheese on a hero (or a bun). Or salt bagel with cream cheese and American cheese. And a fucking bucket of coffee. And I do remember anytime I had to drop my car off for an oil change or whatever I got 2 bacon egg and cheese biscuits from McDonald’s and a bag of buttery popcorn and bucket of coffee. In high school when I was working at a hotel and my mother was so stupid that she let me stay in the staff housing and we would party until 7 AM I would go to the staff breakfast I would grab a couple of bagels a fuck ton of cream cheese and a bucket of coffee and then go back to my room and down that shit before work. I think the theme here is bread and cheese and cream cheese and coffee. And Tylenol and a nap as soon as possible

here in the uk, the cure for hangovers is actually sugar, although we also have greasy food the real cure is sugar and there is science behind it, but water is the best thing to drink before you go to bed when drinking that night

If I had to take a guess based on why this meal helps your hangover, I would say that there are so many simple carbs and sugars in this meal that they’re easy to digest. When you’re nauseated you shouldn’t eat anything complicated. You should avoid vegetables as the fiber in them makes it hard for your upset stomach to digest and could make nausea worse.

Yo so as I’ve gotten older when I go out and drink, I casually sip water throughout the night, I pee a lot more because I’m sometimes taking shots and drinking 4-5 beers. Plus sips of water occasionally throughout the night, but I notice if I do drink water periodically on a night out while drinking, I always wakeup feeling pretty good and never too hungover or not hung at all.
