These plunge pools were full of Brook Trout up in the White Mountains of New Hampshire. This was the third stop of the day or glad I made the hike down into the stream!

Something about setting the hook when over head of the water never went well for me either. The angle up instead of to the side i think. Anyway beautiful brookies. Ill be up that area soon. Cant wait. Thanks for the video.

Brookies are so cool, we have em up high here in the San Juans of SW Colorado as well. Very delicate though.

I use a 6 foot 3 weight fiberglass rod(Cabelas). I tried a 9 foot graphite 5 weight but here in Connecticut most streams are overgrown and a shorter rod works better. Plus fiberglass doesn't snap if you rear back and hit the underside of a bridge or tree branch. It's amazing how different the color patterns of Brook trout are from stream to stream. Subscribed and hope to find you get into Striped Bass and Albacore. Thanks

I agree! I think some of its timing and the other half is even if the fish is small he will still try and eat a giant fly
