I have had one of these for over a decade now. Best tool investment I have ever made. No, you cannot drop a trans on a rear wheel drive vehicle, and driveshaft maintenance is difficult. But they are great for service work, wheel/tire changes, and old VW's since they don't have much in the middle. It is rated for 6K pounds. I have lifted my 5K pound Chevy Scottsdale with no issues at all. I love mine. Highly recommended for those with lower ceilings where a two post lift would not work out.

I've been meaning to pick up a set of wheel dollies. Never thought I'd need them as I only ever expected to have two cars in the shop at one time. But with the city on my ass I had to bring in two more and now things are pretty tight. The funny thing is I usually try to pick up used on these type of items but every time I've looked everyone is selling used harbor freight dollies for the same price as new. Hell, with the 20% off coupon I get get them cheaper new.

Yep your right! If you watch the ads the will mark them down 20 bucks that's when you snatch them up. The 20% only gets applied to one. They are worth every penny!

I've bought a similar lift and placed flat pieces of steel under the wheels so as not to have it dig into the floor.

Have you ever used it to lift a full size pick up?

I havent but I wouldn't hesitate to put my Silverado on it. Just as long as your rig weighs less than 6k you are fine. Several other vids showing it lift trucks

Can you drop a transmission on a rear wheel drive car with this lift?

Nope. At least not very easily. last clutch I did I just yanked the engine, since it need a bunch of new seals anyway.

YOU ARE DANGEROUSLY USING THAT LIFT WRONG. DO NOT GET UNDERNEATH THAT LIFT THE YELLOW ARMS ARE SUPPOSED TO BE HANG OFF THE SIDES NOT THE BACK OR THE FRONT YOU HAVE THEM ON THE WRONG SIDE OF THAT BLUE RECTANGULAR NUB OR TAB.. OMG PLEASE USE THIS THE RIGHT WAy #BENDPAK
