I'm amazed by this fandom, really. I've been in a lot of fandoms, I'm not kidding. But I haven't seen a single fandom take their shit as far as Sherlock has. Lestrade says, "I don't just do what your brother tells me to" and Mystrade becomes the second greatest ship in the fandom. Like I'm not surprised about Johnlock (oh not at all) or Sheriorty (even the show hinted at that one)... or even Sherlolly, but to create a ship consisting of two characters who we've never seen on screen together is just... ambitious. Oh and there's the wee bit where THE FANDOM CREATED A CHARACTER, CAST TOM HIDDLESTON AS HIM, AND KEEP ON WRITING ABOUT HIM AS IF HE'S AN ACTUAL CHARACTER ON THE SHOW. We've got Rugby!John and ballet!lock simply because they were hinted at the tiniest bit. I don't remember John's father being branded as an abusive drunk, but it seems to be common knowledge in the fandom. I understand Soldier!John, I really do. Sherlock looks hella impressed when John shows his military side, it's obvious.... but the BABY KINKS... THE FUCKING BABY KINKS.... oh God this is the weirdest fandom I've ever been in and so far my favorite.
