It's not until recently did I realize how Eddies picking hand was just a jack hammer and made such a huge part of his sound as well, I watched a video ofhim playing unplugged at Jason Beckers house and the attack on the strings occurred to me, just how hard and accurate he was, just like this riff it improves so much that he was behind it, a simple riff that just pops through your speakers just because he was EVH, this is another one that I can't get enough of lately, since he is gone, whenever I miss him I just push play and thank my lucky stars I walked the earth at the same time as Van Halen...

My favourite VH track. Love the tone in this, particularly the short solo tapping run after the shine-on chorus. I remember this song video playing on the big screen in Heathrow airport when I went on holiday back in 1996, my friend who wasn't a rock fan saying "jeez that guy can play a bit" Great memories. Honestly, one of my favorite VH songs. Top 10, maybe even top 5. Pay no attention to me though, I'm one of the few people who think VH was a better band with Sammy. The music was just better. But VH w/ Dave is just iconic as hell. FWIW, Ain't Talkin' Bout Love is my fave.

Oh they were a better band! Always thought they were better with Sammy. The music was more "mature" if that makes sense. DLR was iconic and so is VH with him, but sammy actually can play guitar decent, sings waaay better. Hell yeah! This song is one of my fave VH tunes too!

Does anyone else find it funny and ironic that Uncle Ben is doing a lesson on a AWESOME Van Halen (also the last Great VH song EVER recorded) and instead of using the EVH 5150 head sitting 1 foot away in plain sight he's using his Kemper. Yea I know it's easier to use the Kemper with everything onboard instead of pedals scattered everywhere, but I find it hilarious. Van Hagar detractors whined and whined and whined about the ballads of that era, claiming Dave's stuff was more manly or some shit-talk like that. I can only guess that they didn't try listening to Dave's albums. Care for a hot dog and a shake? Did I mess up your perfect timing? "Humans Being" is more metal than anything Dave ever did. A damn shame Sammy and Eddie didn't continue to explore in that vein.

Not sure how to explain this but I think Eddie also used some sort of voltage regulator to increase and decrease the volts used to get that particular Eddie sound. It's a little red box looking thing. Please excuse me if I don't know certain things about musical instruments. I'm new to the game. I'm looking for a lap steel guitar because the way my hands are. Born handicapped with Arthrogryposis but anyway! I want to try and get that Eddie sound along with Pink Floyd kinda groove! Echo & distortion grunge harmonics feed back!!! ✌😎
