1. I have a 2 story house, and ive read its best to keep them in a small space the first few days and then allow them to rome the house. I find this very hard to imagine as i think they will want to explore the house first. 2. Where do you recommend keeping the litter box (thinking about buying 3 and dont know where to place them). 3. Ive heard raw food diet is best for their fur, whats your opinon on this. 4. PLEASE list what is ABSOLUTELY neccessary for when they first come home. (i feel like i might be overdoing it) THANK YOU SOOO MUCH & THANK YOU KONA FOR BEING SUCH A GREAT TEACHER!!!

@@Changedlife210 on raw diets, its same with cat or dog, you need make sure if they need other nutrients not in the meat they get them, and its debated in vet community disease risk, apparently a few things people can get sick from meat, theres at least one or 2 animals can. Then u got the storage time frame. Im not saying dont, I was just paranoid when I heard there was chance they could get sick. I worry so much for my pets, I had many growing up, and I learned there is no perfect diet, no perfect cat litter etc list is long. But when I had my tabby cats and didn't know all this, they lived 18 plus years on some of worst cat litter, they were even outdoor cats. We did give them blue or earthborn foods only half their lives. One of my cats lived to 21. You can do evrything right and stuff still happens. Sorry this is long, I'm sharing all I learned

I adopted a Bengal kitten in 2006 and lost him last week to cancer 😔😢 He was 16, extremely spoiled and loving. Smart, loved car rides, walked on a harness, talked non stop and knew exactly what I was saying. He looked like the gorgeous cat in this video and had deep emerald green eyes. I miss him every second of the day and it feels surreal not having him here, not hearing his voice. He was so deeply loved and cared for. And last week, when I put him in the stroller and pushed him on the beautiful tree lined paved trail leading down a hill through the pines, his face taking in sights and breathing in the cool air, I had no idea that I would be walking home alone with an empty stroller. He went peacefully in my arms. Cats are so stoic and he never showed signs of cancer until 4 days before he crossed the 🌈 bridge. But George was the best cat I ever had and I’ve enjoyed sharing my life with many. Bengals truly are like humans and dogs combined. They are so smart and patient and so loving and loyal. I am so glad you are sharing your videos. It helps remind me how lucky I was and am that he was part of our family. Thank you 😊

But this summer her son moved in after he refused to go home anymore and started living under our porch. He did not like it at home because they had a pet pig that hated him so he came to us for piece and quiet and to see his mom. I have an 18 year old male Bengal who has always been a bright, intelligent, muscular, active member of our family. Now, at 89 human years, he is like any other "old" man. He sleeps a lot and when he's awake, he whines for food and drink. He wakes me up in the middle of the night every night to drink out of the faucet b/c he refuses to drink out of a bowl. Every morning I have to change the litter box b/c of all the peeing. He has a little of the old cat smell, but not too bad. He still grooms himself so his fur is clean and soft. He has had kidney issues for the last two years, but seems to be going strong. Even with the little complaints, I will miss him terribly when he's gone!

We have a Bengal but not full blood; apparently because his markings are not fully Bengal. Physical characteristics and behavior are fully Bengal. My wife has a long history of teaching cats words and behaviors. This Bengal is so much smarter than any we have had. There are many words we have to spell like you would with small children. To her surprise, he has learned words on his own. You can see when you are speaking, he will be watching intently, trying to understand. Also, I have observed, unlike other cats we have owned, he looks you straight in the eyes and doesn't look away. It is the strangest thing; it's not a blank stare, it's like seeing an intelligence trying to figure you out. Other animals, dogs in particular, will look at you for a good while but it is more of a vacant looking, perhaps a waiting for what's next. I have tested to see how long he will hold my gaze and when he is in the mood, it can be several minutes. I usually look away first.BTW, we added a screened in porch, 15' X30' with 1x1 welded wire. We have added ledges, a 8" diameter section of tree at a 45 degree angle. He has a cat door and spends most nights out there. He brings in mice, skinks, small birds, lizards and big moths fairly often in season. Sometimes they get loose but most of the time he eats them.

If you don’t mind a cat that is very vocal and meowing and chatting all the time telling you all about everything, and if you are home most of the time, because they do not like being left alone for long periods, and if you are prepared to spend a lot of time for this high energy cat, playing and engaging with them, then this cat is for you. Please do your research before getting a Bengal. Don’t just get one because they are pretty. Bengals are a wild animal and domestic cat hybrid and they retain a lot of their wildness. They are not like normal domestic cats and may not be the cuddly lap cat you dream of although they are loyal and affectionate. I have a rescue Bengal because he was too much for his previous owners who abandoned him and he was traumatized because they bond fiercely with their humans. He is well adjusted now but irresponsible owners are the cause of much unnecessary stress and pain for these wonderful, highly intelligent creatures. I am so blessed to have my wonderful Marley in my life, and yes he is a handful and then some, but he is so worth it. Life is never boring with a beautiful Bengal.

They're definitely high maintenance cats! They need lots of daily interaction with their humans, plus lots of exercise. I had two; a brown spotted boy, and a marble snow Bengal with blue eyes. She was the alpha cat, very dominant with me too! Bengals have an unique meow - more like a short, sharp bark, and they'll demand until you give in. So, if you don't mind all that, then get ready and enjoy the ride! 😺😸❤️

I had a Bengal for 19 years. She was the sweetest, most devoted and most beautiful cat you have ever seen. I have always had cats but dealing with Shundor (Beauty in Bengali) was a learning experience for us both. Bengals are insatiably curious and will poke their nose into any new thing so you have to be a little careful about what you leave lying around. They also require more stimulation than most domestic breeds so you always need to have toys around and lots of interactive play time. Two caveats to owning a Bengal, (actually they believe they own you); they have very long back legs and are incredible jumpers. Shundor could jump from the floor to the top of my 4 1/2 foot dresser without even thinking about it, then when they get up there they are annoyed that it isn't a nice place to sleep because its too crowded so they will push everything off until they are comfy. Second they are incredibly vocal. They talk all the time! They are really funny since it is fairly easy to see what they are calling about. Food is obvious, but Shundor used to get up on the bed and imperiously demand that it was time for me to come to bed with her because she was sleepy. They also have a kind of continuous chirp or ''ack ack ack" going up and down scales. But, they are loud! If your Bengal wants something it is best to obey immediately. To wrap up, she was the best cat I ever had and I still miss her 15 years after her passing. Oh, by the way, Bengals love water. I had to be careful walking around in the shower because she would jump in and try to swat the drops. She was a very wet kitty and she had her towel and I had mine.

Our cat is a British Shorthair which is often said to be the exact opposite of a Bengal. Funnily enough our BSH is exactly like Kona is described in this video! :) I guess a lot of it isn't influenced by the breed as much as the character of the cat! So amazing!!!

I have two Bengals and two mixed cats and I agree that the breed says little to sometimes even nothing about what kind of cat you will get. These four are three boys and one girl. Two of the boys are basically like copies of each other just with a 11 year age difference. No those aren't both Bengals, one is a black mixed breed cat who is 17 now and the other one is a 6 year old bengal. The youngest bengal boy is like a puppy, he is very easy going and wants to cuddle all day long. Honestly both of the Bengals are like that. These two Bengals are still more or less opposites even though they should be much more similar according to so many people who think that think that being a certain breeds animals are all a certain way. I have two older, full, siblings and we are nothing alike. We look similar but thats about it. Same for cats of a certain breed. My boys aren't related and they are 9 months apart in age.

Ive had cats my whole life and about 6 yrs ago i talked my husband into a cat to help one of our boxers after he was bite my a rattlesnake and had a rough recovery. We researched hypoallergenic cats (bc hes allergic) and ones that are good with dogs and he found me Cletus, a beautiful silver bengal boy. He is NOTHING like any cat ive ever had but that makes me love him so much more!!! He’s definitely a unique personality and my husband has fallen in love with him, even though he never admits it!! He asks me alot “is that normal for a cat to do?” And usually my answer is always no lol. He has those running bursts from one side of the house to the other, and he makes the craziest sounds, and he LOVES attention!!! He is the best cat, however if he doesnt get his way then he sometimes has these mini attack modes we are working to break, and man its definitely a struggle sometimes but i would totally invest in a bengal again bc he is the best!!!! I love your video bc every single word is true!!!

I have had several Bengals and loved them all. One helpful suggestion to attenuate their demanding personalities (including excess vocalization), if that is too much for you, is to get a companion cat. I found my most active male bengal was a better more contented animal with a cat buddy who was not a Bengal. They were inseperable yet still very social with people. The "talking" was reduced also. The downside is that you may find that your lap has become a two cat lap if that matters to you.

I have a 5 year old Bengal that i rescued just over a year ago. True to her breed she is very vocal, energetic and demanding, but she is also a sweetheart and friendly toward people, even strangers. She's never deliberately tried to bite or scratch. I need to spend about an hour a day playing with her to wear he out or she'll pester me constantly. She's an indoor cat but I was able to harness train her fairly quickly so now she gets to regularly visit the beach, which she loves.

Bengals cats are amazing. I have 2 and they are so friendly (to me at least). Yea then can make a mess but it not as bad as people believe. High shelves for them to climb on, cat trees, running wheel, toys... all very helpful. I have to say, they were a nightmare when they were kittens, like, breaking everything causing mayhem, chewing on everything (yes, even my gaming monitor and cracked my new phone screen), demanding a lot of attention and affection, cant be left alone (my older one will be crying at the door for hours). Once they grow older, 3+ years, they did calm down a lot, they still play and run wildly at 3am sometimes, but their enegry is much more manageable. If for some reason you cant adopt a stray cat, they are a great choice if you have the time and energy. Also, as a person with extremely severe cat allergy (asthma attacks), most of the time they do not cause an Allergic reaction (between seasons an allergy pill does the trick)

My advice is make sure that you watch your Bengal cats diet. My Bengal she passed from kidney problems and cancer at 11 years of age. Just wait until your cat figures out how to turn on switches, steal hair ties, lock doors, and it is amazing what they are capable of doing especially when you work with them. We have a bengal kitten that just turned 4 month today, on the 1 of March. She accepted the litter box imidiately although she likes to dig in the sand all over the bathroom and make a mess. She also is super smart and knows her name, knows when I’m calling her for food or play etc. she does like to play catch the pray if there is solid meat, she pretends that she is hunting it, she is also hunting her toys. She loves to climb and explore everything including the cables, my daugter’s books and pencils, she is like a little doggy and we play fetch with cat toy balls. She brings them back in her mouth. She is super intelligent and so far does not shed at all. She likes to play running around and hide and seek with my 4 year old, she also plays a lot with my 8 year old but she loves to snuggle, purr and sleep in her bed right by her pillow. She knows where her food is being kept and meows when she want to be fed. She also like to watch videos on iPad with my 8 year old or with me and she follows all the motions on the screen. Being a kitten she sometimes knocks things down like my phone from my night stand. But she has a lovely personality, very versatile and we just adore her. By the way, her coat is fabulos. She is on the bed with me right now trying to type lol and we cauught her playing my little daugter’s guitar because she was courious about the string and the sound they make. I could talk about her for hours but I will stop myself lol and just say that she is awesome!

She almost sounds similar to my little boy. I'm not sure on shedding, so many sources say don't even brush them more than once a week. To a extent get bengals used to being handled in the grooming sort of way cuz yes sometimes they may need a bath or to be brushed if something gets in their fur. Also so far mine doesn't like water, he has a few unusual behaviors for a bengal, as in 2 unique personality quirks. Breeder who knows better than me said it. I just wish he didn't give me so many scares. He's still very kitten. Also mine is very well house trained

I've got a stray with similar patterned coat (no rosettes!) but even with a "normal" cat, she play bites me but only ever rests her teeth on me. People think of cats as not being affectionate, that's not true, you just can't force your cat. For once, as humans, we have to make sure another creature is comfortable - in my view, this makes it so much better when your cat shows you attention/affection because you know it's because they WANT to 😸

Great video and Kona is adorable. We have two amazing five year old bengals (brother and sister) and a sweet domestic female shorthair that we found in a dumpster half dead a few winters ago as a tiny kitten. They all play together and love one another. Especially the two girls. They aren’t too naughty but the female Bengal does like shred up certain pieces of furniture but we have just hung on to them and she uses them as a scratch pad. Ha! Bengals love to play and our female loves to take walks and any visitors at the door. She also has decided to start peeing on the toilet and rolling the toilet paper when she’s finished. We never trained her to do that but it’s comical. If the litter box is unsuitable to her then she will pee right in front of it. 😽🤣Best wishes to you all!💜

Please note, Bengals are not Hypoallergenic. The allergen is not the hair it's dried saliva (from grooming) and skin cells. That said: Bengals, in general, are much lower allergen than most cats because their pelt like coat requires less self grooming leading to less dried saliva being there. But as a Bengal owner for 20 years: I know a couple people with very acute cat allergies that can not symptom-free tolerate the Bengals. Everything else is pretty spot on.

We have a bangle named Theo. He turned a year old in May. He doesn’t like the leash, so we are working on it. We got him to give our American bully a playmate. Miss Piggy loves her little brother and he absolutely adores her. We did have a few accidents and took him to the vet straight away because we knew it was probably medical and sure enough it was

I have a half bengal, half regular house cat. He looks like a normal orange cat, except he's a bit more tall legged and has suuuuuper soft fur that are more spotted than striped on his sides. But oh boy does those bengal pros and cons match with him too! 😂 All my cats have been pretty social and liked to be with me, but I never have had such an intelligent, chatty and social cat as this one. He has to be with me All The Time and he also meow loudly to let me know if something needs to be fixed, like a closed door or something that is in his way so he can't get to his favorite spot in the window etc. It's much more like having a dog than having a cat to be honest, but I would not change him for something else. He is an amazing cat and I love him so much. 😊

Our Bengal is certainly a unique individual. All is well if we live life on her terms: do NOT try to pick her up and cuddle... she will jump up on my lap when it's time to cuddle. After a 20 or 30 minute play session, there must be "kitty adoration time" where I must tell her how beautiful, smart and athletic she is as I pet her as she rolls around on the floor. A great way to play is to tie a small cat toy on the end of a fishing line and cast and reel in and give that prey drive a real opportunity to go into overdrive! We love her, but she is unlike any other cat we've ever owned for sure!

We have mixed breed Bengal but she is in every way a perbread. We lish tained her right away. Love to go for walks everyday. But we also let her hunt. Some people are not ok with letting them hunt but she is amazing. We saw her jump up and grabbed a humming bird about 4 ft off the ground. Of corse we didn't let her kill it. We also, had to take everything off the top of the kitchen cabnets because she likes to sit up there and watch us cook. I'm 60 years old and have cats in my house before I was born. She is by far the funniest and intertaining then any cat I can remember. And yes they talk!!!!! They talk directly to you.

My wife and I have a 14 month old female, with brown rosettes, just like Kona. As far as play goes, she’s up for it any time. Best tip. GET A CAT WHEEL. They love the things. Our cat is very affectionate, chatty and the most intelligent cat I have ever had. She does not tear up the furniture but do get them a cat tree. A pair would be better, as with any cat, but the outlay for two of them will be substantial. A dog and a Bengal is probably even better.

Good video. My Ozzy is a bengal kitty and he has allot of the traits you talk about. He's very chatty, very smart and very sneaky. He was a rescue kitty so he can be very high strung about loud noises. He likes to clown and show off and I love that about him. I don't play with him as much as you say, but i notice he does play by himself. when we do play, he can get agressive but he never tries to hurt me. I took Ozzy in after my sister had to move and couldn't take him with her. so he was about two years old when I got him. He's 11 now and he's very affectionate and has become more so since this pandemic started. He's very attentive to me and as a great emotional pal for me. i didn't go looking for a Bengal kitty, but I am sure glad i have my Ozzy.

Ive learned alot about this bread. Firstly they make for pretty bad indoor cats, I would rate a 5/10. Bad to potty train, very mischievous, talks alot, and jumps on everything in the house when you arent around. Yeah its cool to walk him, thats probably the biggest pro. After seeing many other Bengals live outside in cages, im now convinced thats where they are the happiest, with views to the outside world.

I had two bengals, they fought each other viciously. The female couldn’t handle the male coming into the same room. And the females actions would cause the male into fight mode. Rolling screaming fur ball with fur everywhere, had to physically pull them apart. Apart from that there great smart cat. No l didn’t give one away, he passed from old age.

Hey guys - very good video and all info spot on. We bought a bengal (Tiffy) last year and sadly only had her for 27 days. We had cats before but Tiffy was just brilliant and so clever, I could write a book on her cleverness alone. 6 weeks old when she came to live with us and we did all the normal routine to get her integrated with us and her new home. 3 weeks later we nearly lost her when she managed to get tangled in the lower string of one of our vertical blinds. Luckily we were both nearby to retrieve her - she was out cold. So mad. So darned clever. See her catch flies mid air......too adventurous and teh places she found to sleep in, including the washer. Others BEWARE - dont let this happen to you. She had just been let out in our walled garden and a day or so tragedy struck. She managed to get into the washer again but this time she went for a 30 degree wash cycle. We obviously checked the washer first but she must have crept in whilst wifey went for more soiled clothes to fill the washer and didnt check again. So sad, we still grieve.

I thought I would give my thoughts on the particular Bengal I got 14 years ago. I have a female and from what I've seen mine is not a lap cat, she didn't even like me holding her. She's put up with it for 30 seconds or so but then would lean toward getting down. I adopted her from a Breeder that had some issues with her as a mother. She was over protective of her young and would attack the other Bengals if they got too close. Her original name was MoneyPenny. Your cat has a marble type coat, mine is more spotted. She is just very independent in nature, even more so for the breed. You brought up how they only want attention on their terms and that is very true. Mine when she does want attention, she'll jump up on my desk and get in that statue pose and sit next to me. If I don't respond within her exceptable time frame, she'll put her paw on my shoulder and slowly start extending her claws until I relent. I tried to introduce another cat which was my fathers after he passed, a Maine Coon style cat. It was miserable, my cat would constantly run up on her like she felt the Maine Coon was intruding on her territory. This went on for year. The Breeder did let me know that she would prefer to be an only cat in a dwelling and she was absolutely correct. As she has gotten older though she has gotten way more affectionate and she is currently sitting on the back of my chair. Its comical when I decide to get up and do something or get a water for myself and slide my chair back, she grabs the chair like she is holding on for her life, but she won't get down. She'll stay there wait for me to return and then do it again while I move my chair forward. Every once in a while she'll get down and start asking for affection. She has finally started falling asleep in my arms which took this long to achieve. I wish you all luck with yours, she looks beautiful.

I have a 20# male Bengal Jagger. He is 5 years old and he talks constantly. I have trained him to stay in the yard with a shock collar for dogs. (usually just use the vibration setting). He needs between 30min and 2 hours out door time a day. with out this time he can be kind of a butt head. He has a companion cat she is 2 and she weighs 9#. She is the best thing we have gotten for him they keep each other very entertained. he was stalking me and my wife and would ambush or body check us. She loves to pounce on Jagger and they wrestle. She always starts it but she cant over come the weight difference. A suggestion for feeding we have 2 automatic feeders and use TiKi Cat food (high protein) in the hoppers. They get fed 4 times a day every 6 hours smaller portions. The great thing about the auto feeders is that we are out of the feeding loop and can sleep in on weekends and holidays.
