Bengal Fintech Hub Kolkata | By 2030 Kolkata Would Become A Prime Financial Center of India

Kolkata can become an innovation hub if it addresses a perception gap
Think Indian IT hub and Bengaluru, Gurgaon and others come to mind. Kolkata was once a flourishing economy and the country’s industrial engine, but in recent decades, that economic might has faded. Now a new initiative, spearheaded by the Kolkata 4.0 Foundation, a not-for-profit initiative with a vision to create a networking platform for positive thinking on Kolkata, aims to change that.
Quoting a study prepared by McKinsey Global Institute, Debasish Sen, additional chief secretary, IT & electronics department of the West Bengal government said Kolkata was one of the top Indian cities emerging as the epicentre of global financial activities by 2030.
"Kolkata is in an intrinsically advantageous position. If Mumbai is geographically close to New York and London, Kolkata is even closer to Singapore and Hong Kong -- the two international financial and business centres in Asia," Sen said at a Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) event here today.
Sen said that by virtue of its relative proximity to Singapore and Hong Kong, Kolkata stands a brighter chance to become a big IT hub.
"Not only do all IT majors have big presence at Salt Lake Sector V and Rajarhat New Town, the West Bengal government has come up with a centre of excellence in cyber security at New Town. The planned Innovation Hub at Bantala is also expected to be operational by the second half of 2019," Sen added.
The West Bengal government has also laid a special emphasis on developing a financial hub in Rajarhat New Town where as many as 23 financial institutions, including several insurance companies have taken plots, Sen said.
Seventeen acres have been earmarked for a fintech hub, Sen said, adding that harnessing technology in the best possible way tops the West Bengal government’s priorities. PTI DC JM

Kolkata te chakri khub hi muskil as there is huge supply of people for that postion of job but demand is less hence salary is too less Example Engineer salary 7000 5-6 yr experience 15000 only Teacher salary 9000 starting Same 5,6 yr experience only 18-19000 salary Management trainee salary- 9000 starting 10-15 yr experinnce -25000 only approx . resulting in low purchasing power and in today inflation where petrol is 100 per litre and gas cylinder at 850 is very hard to survive also vegetable price is increasing at 10-15% per year but kolkata barely 6-7% which affect in long time , either you have to sacrifuce your cyrrebt lifestyle or be single foreger as with this growth of salary you cannot lead a family confortably , also office politics and low company resulting in lack of switching company fir better salary so you are in cage too , also most of offices are in new town , saltlake 70-80% people are frim proper kolkata abd tgese are outskirts which resulting in most tike in travelling creating headache so no hope of living here for career prospects Lile if agree dislike if nit like no problem i have as its my opinion differs from person to person .

I am again saying Kolkata as a financial hub will never happen, in eastern india there is Chennai and Visakhapatnam those who are way better than Kolkata in terms of infrastructure and much closer to south east Asia by naval route and has bigger port with 6-7 m of draft available in them, so thinking of Kolkata becoming a future financial hub is like having a daydream.

আপনার ভিডিও দেখে হতাশ হলাম, কটা বিদেশি আর্থিক প্রতিষ্ঠান কলকাতায় তাদের shop খুলবে সেটা জানতে চাইছি। তারপর কিছুদিন আগেও তিনটি nationalised bank এর সদর দপ্তর কোলকাতায় ছিল, merger এর কারণে তার সবকটা ই অন্য রাজ্যে স্থানান্তরিত হয়েছে। NIC র HQ খুব সম্প্রতি দিল্লিতে সরিয়ে নিয়ে গেছে । Fin tech hub এ ONGC র জোনাল অফিস তৈরি কি বড় কোন সাফল্য? আমার মনে হচ্ছে বাঙালিরা কুয়োর ব্যাঙ হয়ে গেছি, এই ধরনের ভিডিও ছেলে ভোলানো গল্পের মতো লাগছে। Financial hub এ কি ধরনের কাজ কর্ম হয় সেটা জানতে নিদেনপক্ষে মুম্বাই গিয়ে দেখে আসবেন প্রথমে। আর মনে রাখবেন কোলকাতা তার গৌরব হারিয়েছে বিগত শতাব্দীর ষাটের দশক থেকে , তার আগে কোলকাতা ই ছিল ভারতের প্রধান অর্থনৈতিক কেন্দ্র এবং বাণিজ্য নগরী । গত ষাট বছরে কোলকাতা আরও ষাট বছর পিছিয়ে গেছে । আপনার ভিডিও আরও তথ্য নির্ভর এবং সত্য নির্ভর করুন।
