Thank you for your vid!! Have you found one for rc beams and columns?
@BEngHielscher Жыл бұрын
My pleasure! For RC beams I use my own excel spreadsheet (which you can download (fyi it’s not free)), see the link in the video description. For RC columns I haven’t found a good free program and use paid software currently :)
@MrShamma900 Жыл бұрын
@@BEngHielscher I have some mathcads calculating columns since I also am an engineer. If you want I can send them to you by email and if you find them intresting and you could change them a little to make your own Excel. I would love to trade them for your RC Beam excel. And if you den't then it is always a pleasure to hear from an honest engineer 🙂

As always, your video is both fantastic and packed with valuable information. I'd like to contribute to your list by mentioning STRIAN-Online Structural analysis, which is free and easy to use for performing structural analysis like providing bending moment diagrams, shear force diagrams, reaction forces, and deflection .

strian used to be great, recently they upgraded to a 2.0 version which is full of bugs and not reliable at all..thats my opinion. would be cool someone review it

Can an architect design small structure? For example, small room or house, canopy, stair or overhang
@BEngHielscher Жыл бұрын
In Australia, where I work, architects don’t design any structural elements. They can propose what they would like to see but the engineer has the final say. Most of the time this is a collaborative process :)

Is Bim a better option of freshers rather than go for masters in structural
@BEngHielscher Жыл бұрын
These are two different options. One will lead you to becoming a drafter and the other to an engineer. Depends on what you want to do
