A lot of people can sound good when recorded in a professional studio, with a million dollars worth of sound equipment, but it really takes someone with a LOT of talent to record straight to video with only your voice and an acoustic guitar, and still sound amazing. Ben, like his dad Merle, is one of the few who is just so good naturally, that it doesn't take anything extra to make them sound good.

I was setting up our karaoke equipment in the living room last weekend and KZbin was playing Merle Haggard. The TV was on auto play and next came Ben Haggard singing for a group of people. The wife said Ben sounds just like Merle. I stopped hooking up the cords and we sat there and watched him sing, wife, kids and all of us in the living room. I don’t follow today’s country music, I am sort of stuck in the past. Ben Haggard has real talent. Great country voice.

I saw your dad many, many times and have so many pictures ❤ the last time I saw him was in Tampa andh e Always put on a great show! He had just bought 2 new buses from Jack Calhoun and they were parked in back of your dads bus. I was starting to open the door to go on your dads bus to visit him for a bit and it opened quickly! I said, David Frizzell!! He said, Brenda!! Hadn't seen him in awhile. His wife was very gracious and stepped out of the way so David and I could chat privately. Most of the best songs was Merle playing and singing...same for Old Hank Sr...Ben these vids of you singing with just your guitar and singing is who you are...even with the band playing in the background....that sincere, longing voice you Dad has....sounds similar in you.......when you get your songs in order, can't wait to hear the album one day...I hope it's not to long off.
