One thing I actually like about the Silverado IS the big front end, especially on the RST or Trail Boss. They're aggressive looking. I'm a Ford guy but the F150 front end seems to keep shrinking, to the point now that the new ones remind me of a Maverick and I hate it lol.

I wish you'd actually talk about the failure rate of these ten speed transmissions. Just go to any dealer and find out how long it takes to get a valve body for one of these ten speeds that are failing in record numbers.

Right now all are having issues. I did get a better look of a teardown of the 2.7's Ecoboost engines and see wesr their issues lie. It's a very common issue with the turbo engines. The bearings for the connecting rods seem to wear early. However the vehicle was a 2020 F-150 2.7 Ecoboost. Saw a 5.0 that had It's piston blow up at low miles. Surprisingly it didn't destroy the block. So I guess the spray on Cylinder sleeves must be working. The 2.7's block is made well. The other issue for Ford is the oil pumps are connected to the timing with a belt and are wet. They fail earlier that what the maintenance calls for. So check those early. I saw videos of those losing their at 60 thousand miles and going all through the engine clogging everything up. Causing a complete replacement of the engine needed and the turbos.

Both Ford and Chevy are having major issues. Ford pretty much every one has an issue with the oil pump belt that connects to the timing. Saw many teardowns that the wet belt went early and particles went throughout the engine and turbos causing a need for whole engine replacements and turbos. Chevy the lifters and cylinder locking rinds were breaking and were recalled for the 5.3's. They changed the other engine that was having issues. I heard they made good changes to the 3.0 diesel engine for GM. I haven't heard anything bad about the 2.7 in the 1500 or Colorado. But if I had to guess if it has an issue it would be the connecting rods bearings. Which is an issue with the Ford' 2.7 Ecoboost engine. Pretty much any Fornd Ecoboost is going to have premature wear in the connecting rods bearing amd pretty much any other manufacturers. The 2.3's didn't have big issues with them though. Not sure with the new design though. Ram just got a 3.0 turbo engine. Most manufacturers the 3.0 is a nightmare. I forgot to mention the only issue I heard of with the Colorado is the instrument cluster with the speedometer crashing. They did a software fix for it. Hopefully it works.

Steel trucks are better than aluminum. (Steel is a lot more durable than aluminum which cracks and doesn’t handle stress as well) Ford trucks don’t look good. They’re very bland. Not a problem if you just want something for work or utility purposes. Chevys and dodge’s look way better than ford’s trucks. But they can’t tow. (The chevys) They can haul but not tow. Ford is the king of performance and towing. Chevy is the king of design and that’s about it. So if you want a true all round do it all truck, get a ford, if you want a truck for looks, get a Chevy.
